Questions about Visitor
Re: Questions about Visitor
So for fairy purposes Thor’s name is “Thor Odin”?

Re: Questions about Visitor
You could put it that way, but I wouldn't put it that way.
Re: Questions about Visitor
If kobolds don’t do ownership, is kobold food safe for fairies as long as no non-kobolds could issue claims, or would the magic not care and still assign ownership of the food to some kobold(s) anyway?
I get that my phrasing is weird and that it’s generally more useful to think of Thor Odinsdottir as her full name, but is there any practical difference? I wouldn’t put it that way either except for trying to understand.

Re: Questions about Visitor
Fairy claims don't track ordinary ownership anyway. If Bree buys an avocado from a roadside stand she's on the hook for it even though by all convention the avocado is hers free and clear. Kobolds in this way can relevantly claim food.
No practical difference, no.

Re: Questions about Visitor
Kobolds' non-ownership might actually make things worse, if anything; they do communal food stores that are for all intents and purposes owned by the whole tribe.

Yup. Although the fact that they don't usually do language means that if you have to be enslaved by a tribe of something kobolds aren't a bad choice.
Re: Questions about Visitor
Kobolds do hella body language; is it possible to enforce orders via same?

Re: Questions about Visitor
No, except insofar as you can indicate what you mean by, like "that" or "there" with pointing while delivering a verbal order or set up in advance a thing where certain body language is to be interpreted as a command to do X.
Re: Questions about Visitor
Most tribes do have a speaker, though. And once they figured out what was going on a mage would have exactly the right mindset to come up with the idea of ordering the fairy to pay attention to body language.
(The most likely outcome is still the kobolds all fleeing before they figure it out, though, and maybe the speaker telling our erstwhile fairy to also leave.)

Could Sarion use hyperfocus to avoid orders? She still technically hears things, but she would neither process those sounds into words (unless they match a specific trigger) nor remember them.
