If by “now” you mean “after she has wishes and her aura”, then she also has Celo.

More importantly, Edie would look a lot like her own-and-Celo's daughter.

I just wanted to say that I appreciate the edit in this comment. Report missing people early; as long as the police aren’t overworked it will almost always help.

I say “almost” because in this case there was an indication of magic being involved, and the police would probably just complicate things in that case more than they’d help. But that’s a risk it might make sense to take.

Also, I thought dragons could only swallow chants, not spells with unpredictable effects.

Yes, should have been torz prime, my bad. I mean it could technically also be true of the hunti prime but that is not what I meant.

Medallion dragons as I have been construing them for glowfic purposes have general semiautomatic anti-magic. If a thing is a) local magic b) something the dragon does not endorse c) near the dragon, it will not happen. This means that May can do accelerated trial and error spell development and if the spell isn't what she wants it just won't do anything. (She knows this because she has made mistakes in spells before that were not just "stopped talking in the middle of an incantation").

They do this because they needed to be a plausible match for sphinxes, who can accomplish nearly any spell effect without inventing a spell at all once they have an idea what they're doing - in groups, some of them to accomplish whatever they came to do and one to get them all out of there to nap it off somewhere safe are near-omnipotent. Restricting them to fighting their dragon foes indirectly gave them a run for their money.

Alicorn wrote:The entire written content of Kaja's world is in the sandbox glowfic threads. It is a Vaguely Medieval non-Earth with some mythical animals, Lights, dark things, and paladins. Each Light has an order of paladins, who ride Special Quadrupeds which may or may not fly and kill dark things with their magic powers; I am undecided how many Lights there are. Kaja lives in the far north.
Until I saw this post, I had somehow managed to develop the misconception that Kaja lived in a Thedas. My brain apparently glossed over the distinction between dark things and darkspawn.

I initially assumed "some kind of D&D setting", but apparently these are not D&D paladins.

Holly et al. don’t really need mice and extra food to be healthy, do they? This entire world is in effect under a dreamward.

They are accustomed to treating all sorts of ailments with mice and regard physically sleeping with sufficient anxiety as to find it a legitimate health concern. They'd live if denied both (at least until they got sick or injured and had no procedures for what to do about it besides sacrifice a mouse) but it would be very unpleasant and they'd consider it a grievous waste of time.

I find it a grievous waste of time even though I have no way to stop wasting that time. I was just surprised the welfare people were willing to see it that way too. It makes sense when you add in the anxiety about sleeping in general; I just wasn’t sure that would exist when dreamwards are a known thing.
