I mean

When I heard this was going to be the last chapter I kind of realized that things were not going to Turn Out Okay In The End

But I don't think it really sank in until now

A pealing, maybe, but the world doesn’t seem like it would come to Peal attention for at least a few more decades, other than hooking it up Downside, unless a Bell appeared. I suppose that means that I can imagine it’s one of the ~70 preexisting Downside worlds.

I'm sad because I suspect Goldmage's time travel mechanics mean it's not likely to get Belled or pealed.

I agree it’s unlikely, but there are other worlds with time travel in Effulgence, and thoughts that coins could do it even though the Peal avoids it. It’s reasonable to assume that at least one of the 70ish preexisting Downside worlds has time travel. There’s no reason the Goldmage world couldn’t be one of them.

Metacausally, the Peal is unlikely to significantly interact with goldmagery. That does not prevent it from existing in the same multiverse, with the only interaction being the installation of a Janepoint.

I love that this fandom has an all-purpose go-to fix-it fic scenario. It's a fantastic coping mechanism.

This fandom has multiple all-purpose go-to fix-it fic scenarios. "Any sufficiently large group of Bells", "any benign person or persons with wishcoins", "Teah", "the admin under any circumstance where a sufficiently benign person is able to pester her"...
