This means she will be able to write (with perfect grammar, and better eloquence than she has even without the grammar disability, but a noticeable tendency to TMI) things she wishes to communicate on surfaces that admit of writing; it will also apply to things like sheet music if she comes up with a tune and probably I'll allow other applications if I think of them and they come up.
Does it work for pictures? or sounds? can she do sculptures? Interrupte me if Istarting to sound too Addy-like.

Also, the Bell-kids are a comunicative bunch, huh.

She can do what amounts to technical illustrations. The sort of thing that would have "Fig. 1" in the caption or would appear in a patent application. Not art, not 3D. She could print audio onto a tape or disk or whatever, but cannot project it directly into the air. Pen's power is not much like Elspeth's at all; she's more similar in many ways to Aedyt. Her exports don't have to be true.

It's too bad she can't share that power; it sounds like exactly the kind of thing Lazarus wants to be able to give more coherent explanations.

It is not remotely the kind of thing Lazarus wants. His semicoherent explanations are a result of limits on how much it is possible to explain his power at all, and he prefers making his best effort himself over using magic to artificially generate polished sequences of words. He works as a translator; he is as good as he would like to be at translating things. The use of phrasings like "stuff-that-goes-through-the-thingness" is meant to represent what he's seeing as accurately as possible with interpretation included, and convey something of the aesthetic of his power - the fact that it represents things to him in terms of qualities they have, not necessarily in a perfectly clear and straightforward manner, but helpfully and informatively.

I understand that she is not like Elspeth

but, Elspeth, Helen and Pen all have communication-oriented powers, the only other example that I know is the doubled Griffin power. Jane doesn't count as a child, but even she is a living communication network

So, anyway.

I am not entirely sure about the Narnia Thread (even if it will ever be returned), but I got the impression that maybe (a huge maybe) we will have Sherlock and Tony around too, so the four will come to Narnia. I have no idea how Bella and Aslan will interact.

The Effulgence spreadsheet does not list any Sherlocks or Tonies in Narnia, although it is obviously not Ultimate Truth.

I'd be surprised to see a James and a Bell fall into Narnia without, say, bringing Chris. Or *someone* older and larger. Maybe that's why Narnia's stalled. I hope it gets unstalled soon, I want to see more Libby/Bell interactions.

Narnia's currently stalled mostly because kappa's having trouble picking up midconversation. We have the highest level plot and character arcs reasonably well scoped out for Narnia, it's just medium- and low-level detail that isn't fixed yet.

Is this a common problem?

Narnia particular case doesn't sound too hard, at least you two should add a couple minutes worth of conversation with stuff like "Chris believe this, and never goes to church" and "what would you do if you died and met god" or something.

Afterwards they can play hide and seek.

because, really, let them be kids sometimes.

It occurs to me that Stella never ended up spending the time to figure out what drove the mints to near-extinction. I'm wondering now if the whatever-it-was that killed all the old mints is going to start being a threat to the peal at some point down the line.
