Anyone have any bright ideas of what I could do to read it sans those images?

If you have a Dreamwidth account, go to http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/opt ... esentation and change "Place of icons in entries and comments" to "None (don't show)". This will change your journal style to not have icons. Then just add "style=mine" to the url of the page you're going to read. (If the url ends in .hmtl, add "?style=mine" to the end. If the url already has a ? in it, add "style=mine&" right after the ?.)

I also share your feelings about Finnah. I think she's my favorite Elcenia character at the moment.

Alternately, if you're using Adblock Plus, right click on each one and choose 'Adblock Plus: Block image...' from the menu.
