How did Glass make it to slightly lower than the middle of the pack on fear of death?

My guess? She lives on Planet Cotton Candy, where there is less stupid pointless death (except old age).

I thought that could be related, but there is still some stupid pointless death and a lot of old age. I thought it might be because she thought it reasonably likely she could do something about the old age.

She has several forms of magic and lives in a cotton candy world where going on quests for fantastic things and succeeding at them is moderately commonplace. She thought it pretty likely she could do something about it.

Average closeness to parents, average meaning average between how close a Bell is to each parent (i.e. a Bell who has only one parent but is close to them ranks higher than a Bell who is equally close to one of their parents but less close to the other), only counting parents who are actually in their lives (adopted Bells don't get points off for not knowing their bioparents, for example).

Closer to less close, slightly but not totally age-adjusted because they haven't all been written to the same ages, omitting Ara and Nika because they haven't been written enough, omitting Linya and Promise and the Cycle crew because they have no parents, omitting Mira because the issue's rather complicated with her:

Amariah, Ice
Angela
Cam
Chi
Butterfly
Katie, Astrid
Sarion, Cymbeline
[middle of the pack]
Ace, Phoenix
Aurora, Flicker
Revelation
Phaetonbell
Shell Bell
Aegis, Spring, Sphere
Eve
Tab
Rapunzel
Loki

Huh. I didn't expect Loki to do well but I would have expected Frigga to at least but her over Rapunzel and Tab.

A lot of that spectrum has to do with willingness to, or expectation that it would go all right if they had to, disclose secrets to the parents. Loki likes Frigg all right but wouldn't trust him with anything genuinely private (like 'look, dad, I can magic and I do it all the fucking time'), and Odin tanks that mediocre rating from there. Rapunzel doesn't know her parents very well but is pretty assured of their benignness.
