Once we know how we're playing, can you qua moderator describe how you like actual gameplay posts to be formatted, jalapeno? I've seen a dizzying number of conventions employed.

Resulting ranking (theoretical maximum of 56, minimum of 7):

1. Aminev (45)
2. NIUCS (38)
3. Castelluccio, 5th Folio (36)
4. Zamoskvoretskaya (35)
4. Encyclopædia Britannica, 1974 (35)
6. Castelluccio, 3rd Folio (26)
7. Stovold, 3rd Edition (19)
8. Stovold, 3rd Edition (18)

[Lambda, I ignored your vote for Christchurch and re-ranked accordingly because Alicorn signalled strongly that she didn't want the Kludge. I also counted the number of 6/7/8's assigned to each ruleset in an attempt to simulate approval voting, and Aminev again comes out the winner.]

With that, we may as well start. No one objected to MCStart, so I assume we'll be doing that.

Ah, it looks like Alicorn posted while I was still writing. Unfortunately I currently don't have the time to describe my preferred format (I have an "RL" engagement momentarily); I'll endeavour to do so in a few hours but feel free to post now if you like and retroactively edit into that style later. As a quick guideline, err on the side of as much detail as possible (referencing rules by the section of the ruleset they're described when necessary), and don't hesitate to write down your internal commentary and subjective thoughts--that's as close as this format can come to the "live game" feel.

Okay. Hoo boy. I sort of wish now I'd objected to MCStart before, because turnarounds are a huge pain and I cannot be described as having "reached" Mornington Crescent just by starting here. (I think the maneuver we are by design all aiming for here is called a "daytrip" in the Rhode Island league.)

Okay, I'm on the black line, which has four endpoints (Mill Hill East, High Barnet, Edgeware, and Morden). Four is a square number, so (c.f. chapter 8, "Numerology", footnote 3) slide as far as Leicester Square and pivot onto the dark blue line, picking up one dark blue token, and then immediately spend the token to proceed one stop onward to

Picadilly Circus,

where I exchange my starting ticket for a box of peanuts and a lucky cat, and purchase one anagram ("lacy lipid" - see section 40, "Word Play", on why I'm allowed to omit "circus" from the letter pool) on layaway, deferring my first payment until the beginning of my fourth turn (endnote 903) because it's Tuesday in my time zone. Do I need to record myself singing the song or are we on the honor system for that, and if I do need a recording will pure audio do? There are examples in several places as to what my voice sounds like so I don't think visual evidence would add much.

(For everyone's convenience: my board, lambda's board.)

Excellent timing, Alicorn! Now I can simply transcribe your post into my preferred format instead of needing to make up an Example of Play and risking revealing too much of my 'Crescent philosophy. There are a couple of places where your post is ambiguous, either in actuality or to the hypothetical reader who is unfamiliar with the organization of Aminev, that you should fill in when you edit your above post (or just repost it in the new format--that's fine with me); I've marked these in bold red for greater visibility. Note that [statements in brackets], used for explanatory comments, are part of format I'm implicitly defining in this post; however, [italicized statements in brackets] are commentary on the format or on your particular play and not to be taken as part of such definition.

_______________________________________________

[No need to include player name, since it's already attached to your post, or gender, provided it's the one included in the sidebar]

Player One [not strictly necessary here, but once we diverge from the ITO it's needed so we might as well start with it], Turn One
Starting Position: Mornington Crescent
Current Objective: Mornington Crescent [Again, listing this isn't strictly necessary at the beginning of the game or in the endgame, but I favor showing it anyway for consistency] [I sort of wish now I'd objected to MCStart before, because turnarounds are a huge pain and I cannot be described as having "reached" Mornington Crescent just by starting here. (I think the maneuver we are by design all aiming for here is called a "daytrip" in the Rhode Island league.)]
Starting Possessions: Starting Ticket, Anything Else [including optional articles described in 4.6-8]

Movement

[Okay, I'm on the black line, which has four endpoints (Mill Hill East, High Barnet, Edgeware, and Morden). Four is a square number, so (c.f. Chapter 8, "Numerology", footnote 3, p. xx) slide as far as Leicester Square.]

1) Northern Line [I'm a stickler for correct line naming, sorry], Southbound (by Starting Ticket): Mornington Crescent -> Euston -> Warren Street -> Goodge Street -> Tottenham Court Road -> Leicester Square (to Piccadilly Line, picking up one dark blue token (Aminev Chapter.Section)

2) Line Change: Northern Line -> Piccadilly Line (by colocation at Leicester Square)

3) Piccadilly Line, Westbound [I wouldn't object to "Southbound" here] (by dark blue token, which is spent): Leicester Square -> Piccadilly Circus

Purchases and Exchanges [I think I reconstructed your intermediate actions correctly, but please fix them, in particular the anagram accounting, if I didn't]

I) Exchange: Circus vendor (Aminev Chapter.Section): Starting ticket -> box of peanuts and lucky cat, named Name

II) Exchange: Happenstance (Aminev Chapter.Section): Name the lucky cat -> Name the cat, modifying Piccadilly Circus -> Picadilly Circus (Aminev Chapter.Section)

III) Purchase: Linguistics (Aminev Chapter.Section): one anagram ('lacy lipid' [use single quotes as a reminder that you've purchased the string; you'll need to transmute strings to quotes using the provided rules (Aminev, 9.12-15)]) [see Aminev 9.40, "Word Play", on why I'm allowed to omit "circus" from the letter pool] on layaway [deferring my first payment until the beginning of my fourth turn (endnote 903) because it's Tuesday in my time zone], providing "Song Name" as collateral [no need to post a recording, but please link to the lyrics in case they become important later]

Ending Location: Picadilly Circus
Ending Possessions: Name the cat, 'lacy lipid', Anything Else

[Add any additional commentary here...]

Player One, Turn One
Starting position: Mornington Crescent
Current objective: Mornington Crescent [I sort of wish now I'd objected to MCStart before, because turnarounds are a huge pain and I cannot be described as having "reached" Mornington Crescent just by starting here. (I think the maneuver we are by design all aiming for here is called a "daytrip" in the Rhode Island league.)]
Starting possessions: Starting Ticket, British Girl Scout Starter Package variant M, lodestone, magic mirror (left half), tuppence [Sorry I didn't list all these right away, that was an unforgivable mistake on my part; I should have accounted for them even when they didn't come up.]

Movement

[Okay, I'm on the black line (Northern Line), which has four endpoints (Mill Hill East, High Barnet, Edgeware, and Morden). Four is a square number, so (c.f. Chapter 8, "Numerology", footnote 3, p. 17-iv) slide as far as Leicester Square.]

1) Northern Line, Southbound (by Starting Ticket): Mornington Crescent -> Euston -> Warren Street -> Goodge Street -> Tottenham Court Road -> Leicester Square (to Piccadilly Line, picking up one dark blue token (Aminev 12.301)

2) Line Change: Northern Line -> Piccadilly Line (by colocation at Leicester Square)

3) Piccadilly Line, Westbound (by dark blue token, which is spent): Leicester Square -> Piccadilly Circus

Purchases and Exchanges

I) Exchange: Circus vendor (Aminev 14.14): Starting ticket -> box of peanuts and lucky cat, named His Holiness The Reverend Doctor Saint Father Soft III [Thank you for reminding me to name my cat; and my previous error with the anagram was purely a typo; I'm sorry about that and will be selecting my new anagram without having seen what pistachi0n is doing. I can provide a note from my mother to verify the existence of two previous cats named "Soft" if required; the titles are a consequence of an interaction between 75.3 section C and 22.1 (sidebar). I think I'm also required to note that if anyone lands on Hornchurch my cat will acquire by Papal Fiat Ex Cathedra (29.45) the additional title "caliph", and will gain the ability to levitate.]

II) Purchase: Linguistics (Aminev 9.19): one anagram ('call icy dip' [see Aminev 9.40, "Word Play", on why I'm allowed to omit "circus" from the letter pool] on layaway [deferring my first payment until the beginning of my fourth turn (endnote 903) because it's Tuesday in my time zone], providing "Black Is The Color (female version)" as collateral.

Ending Location: Piccadilly Circus
Ending Possessions: His Holiness The Reverend Doctor Saint Father Soft III the lucky cat, 'call icy dip', British Girl Scout Starter Package variant M, lodestone, magic mirror (left half), tuppence

[Thanks for correcting my mistakes! I think this version is clean and am willing that any remaining discrepancies be simply resolved in my disfavor.]

Aside: jalapeno_dude, can you provide a legend of what all the lines are named (since neither board has one, and it's annoying to try to consult the reference key in the stars when it's cloudy) and also tell us what hex colors you want to be used for each?
