(I don't. That's why I interpreted modrony's request the way I did. The only evidence for my towniness that I have is my own behaviour. I'd forgotten about ironman being a possibility there. But yeah that's a good argument against precommiting here. Like if before anthusiasm had shown up if we'd been precommitted to vote her and then she did her ironman thing if she does it then it would be stupid to not break that precommitment as town. good example.)

Here are my reasons for thinking Tamien is a light.

I originally caught them using a power on BSS.
BSS was very convincingly town so not investigative and didn't turn up dead so not harmful.
This made me think light.

I later did think that she might be a roleblocker instead but I really do not see how she could think to ask for clarification on a message that was addressed to 'Light' if she didn't have a healing power.
She did display an alarming lack of caution in responding to the things I said, which I find kind of confusing.

Exactly. You are blackmailing Town into voting with you. If you are going to do this you had better be REALLY REALLY REALLY sure that the person you're voting for is Mafia. If you're wrong you're responsible for Town's loss. Even if you're right it's not a particularly nice thing to do--you're basically telling people "I don't trust you to figure anything out that I don't already know, and in fact I think so little of you that I believe my preferences are the ones you should have and I am going to force them on you." You've already insulted most of the players of this game by lecturing us about listposts and lying about your own powers and then acting smug about that fact, so I guess it wouldn't be out of character for you to do this...

I do agree that it would be rude, and it does make me very hesitant to do it. If the situation wasn't so dire I wouldn't even be considering it.
I don't have a problem with taking the responsibility, but a pleasant relations with my co-players aren't unimportant to me.
I wouldn't just pick a candidate myself. It's a collaborative process.
What I do want to do is make people stick to a candidate they have chosen and I won't do it if people I trust ask me not to.

You specified "concrete" rather than "likely" so this is easy. Shoal could have an *I am Iron Man* power that declares them to be Town. They might want to postpone using it as long as possible in the hopes they won't have to use it at all (since it'd make them a target). In that case, you'd want to votejump.

(That said, I don't think it's likely that Shoal has such a power. But that's independent from my point.)

Hm. I don't think 'I am Iron Man' would make anyone more of a target than several others here and I would question their choice not to do that when I told them I was going to commit soon, but you do have a point.
There might be a power that does that and is a priority for mafia to deal with.
I'll think about it. It really isn't a thing that should be done lightly.

I mean, it's technically possible that Rithka and Revenn were Mafia and michaelblume is the last remaining one, in which case you'd be correct to townread everyone. :p

You keep swapping back and forth between "I'm the only one who I want to precommit" and "I want everyone to precommit". Which one is it?

Only one town player is really necessary.
Doesn't have to be me as long as they are convincingly town.

One town player doing it would in effect tie the others thou.

And here I thought I was being cautious and subtle and maintaining plausible deniability. I'm not sure how I could have been *more* subtle and still communicated what was needed... I guess technically I *was* subtle enough, since apparently no one else caught on. But I guess I should try to be more subtle in the future.

At the time I really wasn't sure if you were talking to me or not (I'm not a light and you seemed pretty confident about the light thing), but what you were trying to communicate was apparently important enough that you roleclaimed a power role and started making a spectacle of yourself over it, and it was *possible* that it was aimed at me, so I thought I should try to figure it out if at all possible. I totally failed to figure it out, but at least I managed to convey to you that I was confused and worried, I guess.

(Also, going through those posts you linked, it's really funny to reread pistachi0n's response, in light of their... uh. lightness.)

Yeah. Calling you 'light' was to make mafia think it isn't you since I am pretty sure they have been going over the lists.
Now the habit has kind of stuck :P
