Re: Effulgence Fandom Ideas
Renée would not pull an Alanna-origin-story. (Charlie would even less so even if you account for the fact that Charlies have so far declined to come in girl.) And neither of them is George Cooper either.

Mm. Point, but the entire plot of the Trickster series consists of tossing Aly well out of her mother's reach. If you have a different reason for Kyprioth to be interested in her (say, she's an abnormally rational, self-aware person), you can pretty much elide Alanna entirely.Alicorn wrote:Renée would not pull an Alanna-origin-story. Oops, sorry, posted something else in a different thread before I saw that Good Omens was not coming together here. Please disregard.

Have you checked Gravity Falls for potential? I thought of it just because a main character is named Mabel, but there's a lot more to go on than that.

My two reactionsEzra wrote:Have you checked Gravity Falls for potential? I thought of it just because a main character is named Mabel, but there's a lot more to go on than that.
1)I really hope that none of the canon character get the horror of being inside of a effulgent fic
2)I am honestly not sure how the plot would go under glowfic-like influences?
Sorry for my bad english

I have heard good things about Gravity Falls but I'm having serious television aversions and am unlikely to watch it in the next, oh, five years.

that is a weirdly specific figure...Alicorn wrote:I have heard good things about Gravity Falls but I'm having serious television aversions and am unlikely to watch it in the next, oh, five years.

The Gone Away World
(minor setting spoilers below)
This is one of my favorite books just because the world is so interesting.
(Summary)
Humans have created bombs can wipe matter from existence. They are the perfect weapon.
The bombs work by removing matter's "what am I supposed to be" information. There's not supposed to be any fallout. But the bombs leave behind "stuff", blank matter susceptible to being shaped by human thoughts.
The world becomes a surreal, unpredictable place where your own nightmares can appear before you.
If a human is immersed in stuff, aspects of their personality often separate into a new, unique person. Are these people, and others created from the stuff, human?
(/summary)
Thought its not explored much in the book, it's hinted that a human with enough control of their thoughts (or on the opposite end, one with a vivid enough imagination) could manipulate and control the stuff to become very powerful.
This might be an interesting world for Bella or Sherlock to be born in. The possibilities of the stuff seem infinite, but it's also unpredictable. It also seems to be more prone to creating living/sentient creatures vs. just objects. When one character tried to create food, it ended up having wings and legs.
Also, the multiple aspect thing could be really fun with the Joker.

"Where do you come from? Are there a lot of places like you?"
I saw this quote in one of the sandboxes and it inspired me to recommend City of Angles, by Stephen Gagne. It's the same guy who wrote Sailor Nothing, if you know him. It's in the same universe as Unreal Estate, but the plots don't really interact.
I can't say a whole lot without spoiling, but people-as-places and universe creation are both major plot points (I'd love to see Cayra and, say, Mallory from Unreal Estate interact, actually.) The magic system is particularly creative, featuring Picassos that transcend possibilities and psychological trauma reified. If you haven't read it, I recommend you do, and then glowfic about it :p.
