I'm usually pretty clear about things that I do or do not want, honestly, I'm just often pretty apathetic. Not to worry, I can manage myself.

I'm not involved in too many sandboxes for my liking, but I'm involved in so many that I can't do them all at once and so some of them have gotten ignored for a while. Bound sunrise's stuff comes to mind, sorry Anthusiasm! I am a distractable butterfly.

Sorry for asking, but I think you mentioned that entering the Adarins headspace was bad, why exactly?

It's not that it's eternally bad, I can obviously enter the Adarin headspace without issue, as I've demonstrated. Unfortunately the problem comes about when I have had too much exposure to the Adarin headspace.

To be perfectly frank, they're kind of unhealthy people mentally. They treat themselves as a resource to be used (and abused more than any other) don't put effort into psychological self care, and generally find whatever situation is most psychologically upsetting for them and insert themselves into it and back themselves up with morals. That's not to say that I have to become unhealthy mentally to write them, but I take several steps closer when I do it. And while I can handle it, the trouble comes about when I'm in college, have a large workload regardless, and the fact that this is a hobby. If it were a job, I would likely be trying to muscle through it, but it's not. So, for now, it's kind of bad. In the future it might not be (I like watching things break in a pretty fashion) but right now, yep.

(I'm not entirely sure whether I want to hug Adarin or you).

Hee. Hug the Adarins, I am a selfish creature that is fully capable of taking care of myself, they need it more than I. <3

How much would it help if you were writing Adarins-with-dæmons instead of Adarins-without-dæmons? Is there anything else that might effectively puts them in a healthier headspace?

Revival seemed like one of the most psychologically healthy Adarins, at least when she summoned Cam instead of some other demon. I doubt the requirement is actually Adarins-with-demons-of-any-kind, though. It’s more like she didn’t have the chance to deliberately put herself in an unhealthy mindstate because morality, at least after Cam proved to not be evil.

There are a few things - daemons help for sure, but arguably someone pushing an Adarin past their breaking point helps much more. Yes it hurts in the short term (a lot) but it ignites their self interest, and from then on they're more willing to manage themselves. Bells also help, because Adarins/Bells OTP.

Actually I would classify Cypress after daemon touching as the most psychologically healthy Adarin. Revival's among the best starting out, she had the best childhood among all of the Adarins, and that's a factor. But yes, she also wasn't in a position to put herself into an unhealthy mindset, just because there wasn't anything that was particularly tempting for her to fling herself at and break herself on. For an example, see Cypress before daemon touching. Or Prime, for an after action report on damage done. Answer: a lot.

To clarify, I wasnt trying to push you back into Adarins, I was just curious.

Could you classify Adarins from least to most healthy? Could you classify Cypress-pre-daemon and Prime-pre-peal separetedly? I want to know if they had substantial changes.

I know, I was just clarifying for anyone curious. It's a fair question to ask of me.

From most healthy to least:

1. Cypress (post-daemon/Ice)
2. Avedan
3. Revival
4. Conduit
5. Max
6. Rain
7. Quilt
8. Darian
9. Cypress (pre-daemon/Ice)
10. Prime (pre-pealing)
11. Adanir
12. Aldaras
13. Prime (post-pealing)

Basically, Prime was never a healthy individual, but he's better at dealing with his emotions in a rational manner so it doesn't show up as much.
