Re: Elcenia Mafia Game Thread
Okay, I just got back from camping, and caught up on the thread and I'm super sleepy and will probably want to reread stuff in the morning.
But I don't get why people are retracting votes on futurevision just because they put "vote modrony" in bold text - we know from last game that the cult members could *say* they were voting Chelsea as much as they liked, and it wouldn't have any effect. I guess you're holding off on futurevision to see if their vote is counted? I'm also not sure what we're worried about with respect to futurevision's vote - are we thinking that they're demon-possessed, and demons can't vote in the same way they can't speak? Are we suspecting that they're a double voter and trying to hide it? It seems like futurevision and michaelblume have some sort of connection, and the both of them have been avoiding voting, right? So maybe it's some property they both share.
I am confused and sleepy and I guess I'll just vote futurevision for now since they seem to have a bandwagon going and I do recall being suspicious of them, and come back and review things later.

Re: Elcenia Mafia Game Thread
Tamien, I think people (but so far just modrony, right?) retracted votes against futurevision not so much because of their vote, but because of this:
The implication (though not the actual content, now that I'm reading it again) is that futurevision is currently town but will cease to become so if michaelblume dies. I have not yet assigned a truth value to either the actual statement or the implication but will try to do so before I go to sleep tonight, as promised earlier. I do note that it doesn't seem to have changed the minds of most people voting for futurevision, at least not yet.If michaelblume dies, I have to do something which would not be beneficial to town. Although I'm not sure if it would be less beneficial than what I've been doing lately by not voting. Please don't kill michaelblume. Their role is rather important to mine. If you would like to kill a townsperson anyways, I invite you to continue keeping your votes on me. I'm not entirely sure if my death would cause michaelblume to take a similar action to me, but I would hope that you trust him more than me, since he's been proven to be town.

Re: Elcenia Mafia Game Thread
Okay, after thinking about it I am not comfortable voting for futurevision at the moment. I do find their behavior to be suspicious, more so than that of the average player of this game, but their explanation reads as fairly sincere to me (it's much weaker than I'd expect if it was completely made up by a mafia member) and I think that I'm too quick to interpret people acting like they have something to hide as mafia rather than just as having power roles (I certainly did that last game, when as the serial killer I refrained from killing people like DanielH and Aestrix because I was reading them as mafia). I also find modrony's behavior to be suspicious, but I'm still fairly sure they are in fact Leekath. So I am not going to vote for modrony either. I guess I will vote Paradox. I find pistachi0n's reason for doing so compelling, and Paradox's defense to be both unconvincing and too panicked/vigorous considering there was only one person voting for them at the time it was made.
Re: Elcenia Mafia Game Thread
I'll vote Tulip since her revenge-vote on the Leekath instead of offering a decent explanation is suspicious.
Re: Elcenia Mafia Game Thread
1: it wasn't a revenge-vote; they were legitimately the most suspicious-looking person around to me, as explained in my spoilered suspicion-post a page or two back, and I figured it would be better to try to start a bandwagon against someone I actually find plausibly guilty than to jump on a bandwagon which was more likely to win but less likely to be evil. I'm not really important enough for it to be worth throwing someone I don't suspect at all under the bus for a slight increase to my own survival chance.Alphabeta wrote:I'll vote Tulip since her revenge-vote on the Leekath instead of offering a decent explanation is suspicious.
2: while I'll grant that I haven't technically "offered a decent explanation", I have offered the true explanation. If you don't believe it, sorry, but there's not a better one out there. I could probably make up a more believable one, given some effort, but it's not worth the extra confusion that would inflict on the town. Better to either live or die cleanly, without any deliberate lies. That way it'll be easier for the townies sorting through my old posts if I do die to (hopefully) get something useful out of them without constantly second-guessing it all.
edit: Apparently the suspicion-post was actually five pages back? Wow. I hadn't realized how much discussion there'd been since then.

Re: Elcenia Mafia Game Thread
Okay, I have not had a lot of Mafia brainspace for the past two weeks or so because I have apparently had pneumonia the whole time. (I knew I was sick but I didn't go to the doctor or anything because I have this weird stoicism thing where I can't ever admit something's wrong with me until I literally cannot function anymore. This is a bad way of managing myself and in this instance ended with me throwing up on my friend in the middle of the cafeteria, but it is what I did). I have cached suspicions of modrony and Paradox but I don't know how much to trust these suspicions. (I'm not bothering to spoilerbox because we're all voting anyway). I'm going to vote modrony because I'm unconvinced by the arguments against futurevision and something about modrony's roleclaim kind of bothered me.
I think I should have more Mafia brainspace soon and will be able to make better decisions then.

Re: Elcenia Mafia Game Thread
Okay I no longer want to vote for future vision or michaelblume because I think I've guessed who they are, maybe.
Tulip is my next most suspicious person, so I vote to kill Tulip
I'm worried that maybe people's previous affiliations might not matter if they're being pOssessed by a demon. And I'd assume there needs to be something to stop them from saying how demons work once the demon jumps, so maybe that's why pdv died? And maybe even people we thought had to be town because they were proved to be dragons or whatever could have changed when someone died? So maybe I should refresh my cached suspicions on people the next time someone dies? Not sure if that made sense, sorry.
Last minute response to anthusiasm, hope you feel better soon! I agree modrony is being kinda weird and suspicious. If they don't provide useful information tomorrow
