...Wizard in Antre's situation could indeed possibly do that if he found out what was up in sufficient time.
Aaaaand I'm imagining that they're a set of twins and the Alex gets knighted and the parent manages to spell the Bell in time. What have you done.

Wonderful things. That's what she's done.Alicorn wrote:...Wizard in Antre's situation could indeed possibly do that if he found out what was up in sufficient time.

So... Alicorn, in this scenario, is it Charlie who's the Deathsbane, or is it Renee?

Re: Short Story: "Sendaway"
Deathsbaneness sounds more like a Charlie thing, and interrupting the knighting sounds more like Renee thing IMHO, but it wouldn't be hard to go either way.Tamien wrote:^___^tau wrote:Wonderful things. That's what she's done.

Under that situation, would the Bell care to ressurect the Deathsbane'd parent?
Sorry for my bad english

Re: Short Story: "Sendaway"
Neither one seems Deathsbaney. Renée also doesn’t seem the type to marry into the Deathbanes and then cheat on her husband with Charlie.
Bells generally inherit magic from their mothers, I think, but that could go either way.

Re: Short Story: "Sendaway"
Why is the story tagged science fiction/horror? I don't remember it having any sci-fi elements—it seemed like pretty pure fantasy—and it didn't seem particularly horror-ish either. Am I missing something big, or was the tag accidentally copied from Muse?
Re: Short Story: "Sendaway"
The whole family which effectively kills babies is horrorish from the right angle. Then again, the sword specifically only works on “unformed mind”s.

Re: Short Story: "Sendaway"
Well, presumably the Deathsbane parent, having been knighted, is only contributing to the Bell genetically. So whether Charlie or Renee is more Deathsbaney isn't as relevant as which is more likely to be a mage who marries into the Deathsbanes and then upon discovering knighting disapproves. I'm leaning Renee?
