Haven't got that far in any of 'em, although Superluminal is probably going to just be straight up no afterlife easy-to-Downside.

Aestrix, since you've mostly abandoned your Adarins, care to explain the naming rules in more detail than when it first came up? (Thinking of the dar vs. dan bit, though if there were others that's cool too)

For example, I think you never explained why the Midnight Adarin got the *dan* name. Was it because he was raised by his biological father? Does he not have a twin?

Aestrix is asleep but according to my recollection Midnight Adarin didn't have a twin.

Yep! Midnight Adarin didn't have a twin, that was why the dan.

Dar vs. Dan is basically 'Adarin template in an ordinary incarnation' versus 'Adarin that has template weirdness going on.' The most obvious example of which was an Adarin without his Zev. This is not the only possible reason for the Dan, though, I had an Adarin planned for Buffyverse that was asexual, he got Dan instead of Dar. Female Adarins get the same, because in my head the template is very thoroughly male and while it's not weird to see them as female, and actually kind of fun, it's still hard coded into my head that a female Adarin has template weirdness going on.

Also, the Adarin in midnight wasn't actually raised by his birth father. He's a bastard, royal on his father's side over his mother's, because once a Nereus has power he wants to have a horde of kids to be sure that he leaves an appropriate legacy. He was raised by his Veron (after Aliya died horribly), up to a certain age, and then when he was old enough Nereus picked him out and said, "You, you are smart and I don't really mind that you hate me, I want you to be my heir." Nereuses are really quite willing to name Adarins as their heirs based on their own merits. Hilariously enough, Nereus is quite equal opportunity here; it doesn't matter if his kid is male or female or whatever background they have, if they have the appropriate traits he wants (which, Adarins have most of them, and Nereus is of the opinion that ruthlessness/lack of empathy can be taught) then they are heir material and he wants them. So, the last few years the Adarin in midnight is getting a crash course in How To Be The Crown Prince, taught by Nereus, the horrible father whom he hates on principle.

This really makes me want to have the father of my templates to have a conversation with Nereus. I think they could be best buddies, or worst enemies, or both.

The plan was to kill Quartet's Nereus at some point?

Now I kind of wish Adanir and Edarial could've met each other.

There was no plan to kill Quartet's Nereus. Alas. :P

Adanir and Edarial would understand each other's situations very well, and bond over, "Our birth fathers, man. Our birth fathers." Edarial is slightly more willing to borrow Adanir's Veron over anyone else's, but still not really inclined towards it.
