Re: Sandbox Discussions
Could be fun if it came up, but it'd slow progress way the hell down.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
^Huh, three players blog tends to be slow, but any pair of you could do an interesting sandbox with maybe four characters from different islands inside Terraria?
It starts in a dark room with random close up shots of monitors with scenes from the Terraria world, and them more closes up of a person, which slowly reveal their controlling the npcs and that they are shackled to a weird chair/harness that itself is being lifted by a mechanical arm that brings the person closer to the monitors.
then there is a shot from behind the person, only theirs dark silhouete and a dozen monitors, then the dramatic music gets more intense and the shots get further and further back to reveal hundred monitors, then thousands and thousands more. Fades to black.
Now... I dont want this to be the way it plays out, but I am wondering how to render this kind of scene in proper written format.
huh, this prompted my imagination to create a scene of a dramatic reveal scene:Aestrix wrote:The order of magnitude is something we haven't gotten to yet. It's quite a lot, though - there are definitely many islands that were once inhabited and whose inhabitants died, and there are even more empty/unclaimed islands. There's at least one other 'active' island, with a living inhabitant, and likely more, though the entity both doesn't count them and doesn't keep a close eye on them. Whether they can be reached by Sable within a lifetime is another matter entirely. The islands are arranged in the same gridlike pattern.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
This new Amounts thread is very pleasing to my sensibilities.
All of Mial's letters are neat and organized now! Also I love all these little details that make Elcenia seem like a real place full of real people.

I am deeply entertained by the entire process of sorting Mial's mail.

Also,

I don't think I have ever related more to Miles than this moment. He really shouldn't read the Letters To Shren Alyemi past the point where he can reliably identify them, but he keeps doing it anyway.

Random headcanon: The person requesting destruction of dust bunnies is an alt of the admin.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
It’s hard to imagine an alt of the Admin not having a domain, and only somewhat easier to imagine her doing something about dust bunnies that requires physical movement.
I like this possibility so much I will try to imagine it anyway.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
A version of the admin who did not have near-omnipotence would probably go so far as to write someone a letter suggesting they eradicate dust bunnies.
