If you do not vote, it allows the mafia to control the vote, and we had I thought all agreed that voting was a good idea. Jalapeno dude offered a not great but okay explanation, Aestrix and Paradox (and Alphabeta, why? Proving I guess that not voting isn't necessarily evil) also did not vote and offered no explanations?
Currently most suspicious of Paradox, Aestrix, and jalapeno dude.

Kuuskytkolme who is more experienced in this game then I am has argued that mafia control of the vote isn't a major concern. I was initially somewhat sceptical of this because she could have been mafia trying to mislead us but given that we now know that she is definitely town I'm not that concerned with the mafia controlling the vote. I also thought the day finished later than it did and it was close to ending when I went to look at the thread to vote and given that I'm less concerned about the mafia controlling the vote I thought a hasty ill-considered vote would do more harm than good. I was also reluctant to vote so near the end of day because it doesn't give the person I'm voting to kill a chance to defend themselves which seems unfair.

I didn't vote because I couldn't think of a good person to vote for, and when I am unsure of the best course of action I sometimes do a thing where I fail to take any action at all. Failing of mine, I'm working on it.

Plus, the argument that by not voting I am letting the mafia control the vote, therefore I am mafia... doesn't... really make sense? If I were mafia, by not voting I would not affect the vote at all except in a talky fashion. I don't really know how the mafia can control the vote unless nobody but mafia votes, or they match our number. The first definitely didn't happen, and the second is an auto-lose, so I am rather confused as to the argument where it allows the mafia to control the vote. It allows other people besides myself to vote, certainly, but that's not exclusively mafia. I don't think everyone should not vote, I don't think I should always fail to vote, but if I can't decide who's most likely mafia a day or two I don't think that's Awful Bad Burn Burn Burn.

And honestly, I didn't even fail to participate, I did vote, for kuuskytkolme, and then she Iron Manned and I was proven to be barking up the wrong tree, where I removed my vote. I am the type of person to deliberate for ages over my choices, and no arguments for no.head.chicken convinced me.

BlueSkySprite, your logic regarding not voting making someone suspect is flawed: The mafia can't control the vote as a result of people not voting if they're the ones not voting. Not voting is strictly an anti-your-faction action, not always an anti-town action.

So what does everybody think is going on with the voting? I'm thinking a vote thief + not being able to vote for someone who has Chelsead you. I think that explains all the discrepancies but I might have missed something.

I'd argue that it's not even an always anti-your-faction action, I think there's more value in well-thought out actions over blind 'kill this person I haven't thought about because time is running out and anything else is failing the town.' Which was sort of the awkward situation I was in. Thus, no vote.

Vote thief sounds about right, someone took demo's or pistachi0n's vote and gave it to BSS.

Okay yeah sorry my reasoning for the voting thing seemed to make sense while I was writing it but out does not anymore. I'll figure out what I actually think is suspicious after I get home (almost there! Just waiting for baggage carousel! ) and get some sleep.

Also, BlueSkySprite--the subtracted votes started on the day we killed DanielH. Something happened then to make either mine or Demo's vote stop working. I didn't find any missing votes in the votes before. So I think the vote thief and your extra vote are separate issues. That's why I think tau is definitely mafia.

@pistachi0n, yeah I think the missing votes and my votes are also different things going on as well. However, Aestrix proposed that someone was taking your vote or demo's and giving it to me, and I wanted to show that this is not happening.
Also I am now home and have access to my crypto keys now, in case they are needed.
