Hello members at general!

I'm a friend of Aestrix and recently was introduced to the existence of this community. After around a week of distractions, appointments and the dreaded life, I'm motivated/bored/been too long since I've had a good pen&paper group/inspired to do some writing. The problem is that Aestrix is busy and i know none of you to any capacity.

I make this topic in order to begin an understanding of how things work around here. Most likely a "What do i need to find someone to do stuff with?". Could also be a "Hey want a half-decent person to write with?" message or "Hey get in the super-secret IM chat" notification. Whatever works.

How is being a friend of Aestrix being going? Good I hope.

Well, how much are you familiar with alicorn work and glowfic in general? Do you want to glowfic (co-write something Rp-ing style)?

I'm not entirely sure if we ever got around making a proper "contact me to glowfic thread" but Sandbox Prompts and Worlds you want to glowfic have similar purpose. The second post from Index of Glowfics lists all authors with moiety colours¹.

Also, I'm a half-decent person if you want to write with me!

1 - this just being a sort of easier way to separate characters into groups by authors.

Ask bluelantern for my gmail address if you want to do a glowfic with one of my characters, we can discuss.

That's kind of why i made this topic; i don't know anyone or specifically who is quite attached to what or why and who wants to do what.

Known Aestrix for quite awhile, it is quite good. I'm not very familiar with anything enough to do much, though 'glowfic' the RP-style was what i thought was the normal and am interested in doing basically, but picking someone and throwing a "hey wanna do stuff" with nothing i know and wanting an explanation of how things truly work is just silly to me.

Hey, can I piggyback on this? I have pretty much the same questions.

I've been lurking for a while/hanging out on the MWF/being vaguely adjacent-adjacent on tumblr, and would like to get to know/glowfic with people, but haven't been sure how to come say hi without being weird. So ... hi? :P I'm Sapphire, Silver, and wordswordswords on MWF; shedoesnotcomprehend on tumblr; and Moriwen on AO3, if people want to see some of my writing.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in, RoboticLIN! If you want to write/hang out with with someone equally clueless (but an OK writer?), hi!

Well an introduction is probably a good part. I mean... Hi, i'm new here, anyone want to mentor/teach someone new? I don't want to send a message at someone random and act like i know what i'm doing. The parts i bolded on Moriwen's post sums up what i was trying to do better than i did. Add in "What am i expected to have pre-written to join up with someone?" and theres a better OP.

Oh, right we don't really have much of a system. I don't think. Some people go straight up to Alicorn. Others post on the threads I linked and announce something to the effect "I want to RP and this is what I want to do". I'm willing to explain more things, but need to go get dinner.

I prefer to arrange glowfic in gchat. "Hey wanna do stuff" about sums it up though, then some discussion of exactly what stuff is going to be done, then we start writing.
