... seems oddly humanocentric. I was tempted to put everything but "the national debt" in the "small" column...

I changed the captcha to something called "sortables" where I make two lists of things and you have to sort them. I had a bit of fun with it :)

The captcha has changed since you signed up, since we had spambots getting in with the original one. The new one involves sorting words into categories, for example

Mountains
Thumbtacks
Skittles
The moon
Elephants
Bread
Electrons
Stars
The national debt

into large and small. ^^

Well, it is pretty much intended to discriminate against robots. I suppose if we ever meet aliens or invent robots that should not be discriminated against, a new captcha system should probably be devised.

Well, if they're aliens or robots which are approximately human-sized, then we can keep the same captcha system. However it is unfortunately discriminatory against beings that are Thumbelina-sized or Jupiter-sized, who may be confused. :(

I could make an argument for stars being both large and small. and i'm not sure where bread would go. it's enormous compared to electrons and tiny compared to mountains.

A lot of people from alternate realities would probably be pretty mystified by this captcha. You can probably guess a national debt is large, but you might not know what an electron is, much less a Skittle.

Fortunately, most countries with Alicornutopia also have Google. I was more worried about whether a snow day was pleasing or displeasing news.
