Changeling. Fantasy, same setting as Visitor and Queen, < 7,800 words. Thank the randomly selected Patreon user for this setting choice. Now to go get Patreon to drop a bag of gold on my head.

I liked that a lot. It being set in Australia pleased me too. :)

"Fair's fair"
That was great and horrible. I loved it

This universe continues to be great. Is there any name for its stories as a group, or should I keep thinking of them as "the stories set in the Visitor universe"?
The word count is wrong on the index, by the way. It says it's < 1900 words, rather than < 7800.

Fixed wordcount.
I don't have a significantly better name for the setting (I mean, "Fairyland", but I've got more than one fairyland). I do plan to bundle up the three of them as a Kindle edition entitled "Tales from Fairyland".

Thank you for this. This was by far my favorite of the various Fairyland stories.
(I started getting tense at "Bree picked a curly-petaled yellow something and tucked it behind her ear" and was presently surprised that there was no horrible payoff for that at the end of the story...)

And even if Trinket and Chloe shared a language, Chloe couldn’t order Trinket away.
I hope Visitor fixes this.

Oh man I was honestly holding my breath until the last sentence. That was excellent.

So are all glowgolds changelings, or is this some sorcery that stays working in the mortal world?

Glowgolds are not all changelings, although more than just Pyrite probably spent some time thereas, longer ago. Glowgolds have a kind magic which allows them limited shapeshifting sufficient to pass for human indefinitely. Kind magic is not sorcery and does work flawlessly in the mortal world.
