I hope I can explain clearly.

The general idea, if Glowfic original settings didn't start as glowfic setting, but are instead invented by other people and are part of conventional media how different would they be?

Take a example: Gemini

Gemini oozes anime-manga, oooozes it, but It wouldn't have the glowfic-canon events. Instead the story would be placed in Japan (because), centered around a Gemini School in the near future. I don't think they would have yellowstone be part of the main story current events, but it *might* be used for a important character background/dramatic past.

There would be one character (either the main character or the main character love interest) that is a "Gemini Single", and they would suffer bullying-and-or-against about it.

Likely, there would be a group of comic relief characters that are a tri-or-more-plets that talk and move in unison and vaguely creeping people out.

Other example: Daevinity

This bizarre alternate of Daevinity would either be:

A)Romance novel, the kind with hot guys on the cover. It would feature tons of BDSM not-subtext about the nature of bindings and no exploration whatsoever about the economical, political or cultural consequences of Daeva magic. I think the main character would be a cleans up nicely heroine that discovers that her "dead" ex-lover is now a Daeva and is torn about in a love triangle of some sorts. It would be set in present day.

B)Anime/Manga. Good chances of being set in the future and in some lunar colony, actually I think the Glowfic canon events fit rather nicely with what an anime would do with the setting: Prude summons a demon in a emergency, relationship happens. I don't they would feature Good-Slytherin characters like Revelation and Revival, but many things would fit the canon, including the "Prude" dying and being separated from the demon, but ending with them being reunited via summon, instead of alternate people.

So what you guys think? Cycle is a nice if unusual romance novel? Maybe Gemini feels more like a western super-hero comicbook to you?

and before you ask: Yes, my brain does keep me awake at night.

Either way, details like "Daeva randomly appear every so often" wouldn't be non-glowfic-canon, instead it would be stuff that Alicorn and her co-authors would come up to fix plotholes that the fans noticed.

I’ve always wanted the story of Revelation; that is, what happened between Campbell Swan arriving in Forks so his mother could move around with Phil, and Revelation appearing in Hell? If I get some characters together I’ll ask Alicorn if that sounds like something she’d be willing to sandbox it with me, but I’ve also imagined it as a generic fantasy-novel-with-Masquerade and minimal romance component. It could also work well as a movie, probably. I’m not sure where it would end, though, either as a movie or a book; it wouldn’t be right to also include the moon colony events, and waking up in Hell isn’t usually a good ending. Maybe it could work out if Cam hadn’t heard of the afterlives until he got there, though.

And now I’m imagining a TV series spinoff, with his notable summons and adventures in Hell. In the pilot, he makes his wings and learns his way around Hell, now he’s being summoned and has his first experience with gagging, now somebody from Hell figures out he’s the reason for the recent changes on Earth, here’s an episode where he’s watching a news report (which he got in payment) about a rampaging unbound angel, etc. Since he’s gagged, it would need his thoughts accessible to the audience, Quantum Leap-style.

I've considered writing up a complete summary of Revelation's backstory but I don't have it pinned down very well and I have lots of other stuff to occupy me when I have the energy to do solo writing.

Btw, how Cam survived the van accident?

I don't have a specific escape in mind. It seems unlikely that he had an angel summoned at the time who healed him so I'm inclined toward explanations that have him never struck at all (skipped school that day or something).

Huh, instead of Angel, I thought of a Fairy, who simply safely pushed the van away. Maybe the fairy wanted to take a look in the exotic mortal world?

Fairies would have a harder time than an angel of being unobtrusive in the mortal world. Maybe if they were willing to stuff their wings in a coat and rely on indestructibility for it not to hurt too bad.

He does have a potentially-valid excuse for skipping school, although he would need a good specific reason for not doing his summoning during evenings/weekends. I also think it would be easy enough to have a daeva save him.

Could he have woken up and summoned an angel/have had somebody summon him an angel, or do struck Bells usually never wake up? It seems unlikely that any of the Standard Forks High kids would take the news of summoning well enough for Cam to have told them about it yet. Maybe Mike would have worked, though. Or did he mostly just use the Internet to reveal summoning information and not tell anybody locally?

I also suppose “presummoned angel” works as well if there’s a motivation such as curiosity about the mortal world. Angels also have the advantage of being able to become unobtrusive; most natural daeva look human, but also extremely odd; angels could modify to match an Earth race.

Struck Bells don't wake without magical help.

Cam's reveal of summoning definitely involved sending summonses places to tell people things, I know that much.

Angels are indeed potentially perfectly unobtrusive.

I still think that the best variation is "the van didn't hit him at all", but maybe Angela managed to figure out that Daevas existed, she summons a demon or an angel and makes a deal to have Cam healed, but she is traumatized by the payment and never tells anyone (or Cam) about it.
