Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Do any threads on DW have an "explicit" tag?
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Glowfic euphemisms are excellent. I prefer not to use them, but they are excellent.
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Those are the ones that I had to download manually because of a content warning, at least.Kappa wrote:Do any threads on DW have an "explicit" tag?

Those aren't tagged that way in the entry tags, though, they just use the site's content warning marker. Totally different thing.
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Okay, well, in that case I don't think so? There isn't an "explicit" tag in the Glowfic community nor in Alicornutopia, and I at least haven't noticed people using a tag like that elsewhere.Kappa wrote:Those aren't tagged that way in the entry tags, though, they just use the site's content warning marker. No one uses it, but I think it's a nice way to, like, warn people that naughty times are somewhere in the thread without using the really annoying content warning marker, especially in the future when they don't have the benefit of Ade's amazing daily updates list. And beyond the naughty times, it seems like generally a nice thing to have, I've been thinking of tagging my threads with the canon they're in.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
I definitely would prefer at least a heads up before running smack into lewdthread.
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Tags are already on the To Do list; if people are interested in a system separate from tags I can look into it (in the spirit of being AO3 for Dreamwidth I could take notes from what they do? But tags probably get us most of the way there.)
After catching up on the other thread: possibly also a way for users to suggest tags, since a couple people mentioned being willing to tag if requested but having concerns about doing it themselves.

ICON UPLOADING! I am so extremely pleased! Here's the deal.
- You have both the URL field and a file input field in the Add Icons to Gallery page.
- No edit upload for now: Icons that were uploaded to the site will display a cute little "this was uploaded" field in the Edit page instead of a URL field. I might put this in v2 unless people expect it to be Vitally Important Now.
- When you delete an icon from the site, it will also delete the icon from storage.
- Any URL the site recognizes as hosted by the Constellation must be unique to the site; you can't reuse it in other icons in the URL field.
I have attempted to test this as best I could. (I even wrote actual model tests, you guys, what is this craziness?) But image uploading is weird and complicated and Amazon is... kind of the worst sometimes. Bug reports are loved and treasured, the more detail the better.
Request though- these do cost me money if we use them enough. The free tier's pretty generous, but we as a group do love our icons xD It doesn't cost that much, or anything, but I already pay for the database so please be mindful and don't overwhelm the feature right off the bat :)

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
I have done a few new potential changes (Marri still needs to approve them, and if people don't like them they can be reverted).
(And if anyone wants to speak to me about this (or Theo), feel free to PM me / ask for my Google Hangouts.)
- Post and reply previews should work better on devices that don't use JavaScript
- The Characters page will show the button for the selected view in a darker colour
- Behind-the-scenes stuff on the "delete multiple" thing (to make the code clearer & the technical stuff more accurate)
- Edit fix! When you edit a post, it should now send you back to the reply you edited, rather than the start of the post
- Permalinking is now more permalinky, At first I made it just redirect to the reply on the applicable page of the applicable post, but apparently Marri did that at first and some people had issues on mobile (What were they? o:). So, instead, it now keeps you on the permalink page but it generates the applicable view of the thread around it, and scrolls you down to the right post (JavaScript required for this, because of horrible, ugly reasons, sorry; hopefully it won't affect (m)any people). Clicking on "page" links sends you to the applicable page of the post, and so everything's in context rather than the "jump back/forwards [x] pages" thing. (If there's demand for that, it should be relatively easy to add it.)
