I just saw something about abuse of 911 emergency services. One of the interviewed 911 employees said “We are professional call takers and dispatchers; we can’t expect the people calling in to be professional victims.”

What does Daphne think about this line?

She is confused about what it means.

I assume the confusion is partly yours, because she knows her attracting trouble isn’t normal.

People call about all kinds of things and even when there is an emergency (often they call asking for non-emergency things like a small spider in the house, wanting to know what number to call for the current time, or in one case mentioned in the video and presumably several more in real life, it was a realistic-seeming prank call) don’t always communicate the details well. Often the call centers are overloaded. The system would run much more efficiently if all callers were trained in how to use 911, but even though the dispatchers are trained in this they can’t expect the people experiencing the calls to be.

When hearing the quote I thought that Daphne was pretty much a professional victim. If only she got paid for it.

Yep, Acara is a Magneto and Carlos is a Professor X.

Daphne doesn't consider herself a victim in the relevant sense; yes, she gets in disproportionate amounts of trouble, but she wins her B-Movie plotlines.

I don't understand how Darwin can die like he does in the movie. Does this have an explanation in your world?
