Don't forget that, to a reasonable approximation, Golden (well, Elspeth) can resurrect (some) people too. Anyhow, if you write a thing like this, I will definitely read it! I have no doubt that any sort of "Magic is *REAL* (and by the way, I run an empire and life in it is better than where you live)" revelation would have a decidedly schismatic affect on religion (not just Christianity) in the immediate-to-short term, though I can't comprehend the long-term effect.
Getting back on topic: would somebody please ring (pen) the Bells and tell them to come back to the bar. There's New People they need to meet!

Now, how to handle the "your alt and your brother's alt are extremely married" explanation? (Prediction: very awkwardly.)

Elspeth can cheat, and just tell the Pope "the thing we call magic is completely non-demonic in origin, and we hope to eventually make it around as occult as thermodynamics."
It'll make it hard to classify magic theologically, but hey, that's his problem now.

The only reasonable decision theologically* is that it obviously is not “magic” in the theological sense, any more than my ability to hear things said miles away and decades ago is magic. We just don't understand the extra powers non-magic as well as we understand the audio recordings non-magic.
How this would respond to Glass's saying that all magic is the same type of thing, including Aurum witch magic and devil-granted magic (if she ever runs into any of the latter) is probably more interesting, but when you introduce Glass it isn’t long until you find Downside.
* This assumes Elspeth is believed. It is not literally impossible to disbelieve her, and when she says something like that, obviously magically, it is probably fairly easy despite her power.

I am out of date with the threads, but my two cents: a idea that I used in a setting was having the Pope and the rest of the church be convinced that treating magic as demonic would be bad for them, not as a threat, but simple as a fact, breaking the masquerade would divide religions world wide and catholicism going "burn the witch" would cost more lives and diminish the church power and followers way more than being accepting.

It kind of bothers me that you pumped a full dose of blood from other reality into Miles without testing with a small dose first. Sure it's designed for universal donority, but how would you know if there is some significant difference in non-trekkies that makes it dangerous?
Then you do it to a unicorn colt whose true biology you have never seen because it's under a spell you don't know the full workings of. Using possibly stale blood. If you don't know if it will go bad in next half hour you don't know if it did go bad in last half hour.
Good idea to test on a adult first. You should have seen it through. If there are complications, they aren't guaranteed to show immediately. Waiting for couple of hours won't kill anybody.
Just get some new blood later. An inconvenience isn't worth risking a life.
Even Jokers don't usually orgy for literally forever.

Sometimes it is easier not to have the characters verify every single true fact about their situation explicitly onscreen.
