Ooh! Sorry for the double post but I had a cool thought! Actually what if instead of waiting everyone (or like 5 people whatever picked in advance) put their birthday or something from last year and then we average those and check on that date so we don't have to wait for UTC midnight?

Who are all the cultists? Pistachi0n, do you know? Alphabeta, you had access to the chat? You mentioned Shoal. If you only converted DanielH, why are there two votes missing?

I was born on Feb 4th.

I think shoal likely had an extra one of those actions and was in the coordination channel because where else did alpha get shoal's private key from? But you're right, we're still missing an action. Alpha, you have any idea where it went?

Apparently Shoal can't vote against me either after I Chelseaed DanielH. Weird. I know cultists can't vote against each other, but DanielH was in my cult rather than the other way around.

So as far as you know the only cultist is Shoal?

Daniel had to poke people twice to give us access to the private communication channel. It slowed him down, because he had to weigh getting more intel over getting more members. He poked me twice and pistachi0n twice but someone blocked his actions one of the nights he targetted pistachi0n so she didn't get access. He stated privately that he didn't get any feedback when he used his powers. The first sign he got that it had worked on me was when I showed up in the communication channel.

He gave us permission to share stuff from the private communication channel posthumously because in this hypothetical (which is now our reality), he has already lost, so there's no reason for us not to try to use whatever information we had there to our collective advantages. Although I must say that a lot of the information was just speculation, the kind of speculation that everybody should have been doing publically, and the real information that we had: Shoal is Alex a vanilla townie with no powers, Daniel is Chelsea a power role with Chelsea powers, and later Alpha is Addy, that information is information that everybody else has now too.

Oh, there is one more information that you don't have that I think you should have: In Daniel's role pm, he was told that there was no Eights in the game. I strongly suspect that the mafia and other negative roles were given safeclaims too. So the crypto is almost entirely useless.

An example of the kind of speculation we had: Daniel and I both suspected Aestrix of being protown, but Alphabeta thought she was more likely to be scummy. We both thought the alpha was a powerrole, and probably a member of the mafia before he roleclaimed. After that, of course, we love him and cherish him. We had moderately positive feelings about BSS. we weren't sure what to make of either kuuskytkolme or pistachi0n which is why pistachi0n was targetted -- we wanted her to share knowledge with us if she had any or to share speculation with us if that was all she had. I had been thinking she was Chris because Daniel thought she was the one protecting michaelblume but we were both wrong about that since Michael was Chris and Addy was protecting him. I believe pistachi0n when she writes that she has no powers now, but it would have been nice to share speculation with her anyway, and I wish she'd made it to the communication channel. As for kuu, we just weren't sure whether she was protown or antitown or somewhere in between. We had moderately positive feelings about tau. The other people were null -- we either thought they were vanilla or they hadn't posted enough in this thread to make any impression on us.

We could have been wrong about any of this -- we /were/ wrong about Chris and Addy and I personally have been wrong about pretty much everybody because I seem to be easily swayed by others opinions and I find it really difficult to figure out what people's motives might be or to remember that the answer to "why would ____ say that if it wasn't true." is the really obvious "because we're playing a game which would be a very short game if the mafia didn't lie".


Anyway, Aestrix, the other day you were talking about how you wished you'd gotten access to a private communication channel where people can share information with each other. I would like to point out that this thread, right here, is a communication channel. It's not private, no, but if we all share our speculations -- even if some people are lying because they're mafia -- we'll all have more information than we started with. And if some people start to change their behaviour as a result of certain speculations about what suspicious behaviour looks like, that in itself would be suspicious. However many non mafia heads we have here, that number is better than 1, everybody working by themselves keeping their cards close to their chest.

So, uh, everyone, what do you think of your fellow players?

I'm really tempted to vote tau or BBS due to how wrong you have been.

If you are speaking the truth this game has a roleblocker. (Most likely Mafia aligned and that's how michaelblume died).

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to keep voting randomly, when the number of players has gone considerably down. If, however, that's what people decide to go with, I suggest taking Shoal and pistachi0n off the list (or at least Shoal) - while not exactly townies, they're certainly no longer a threat.
At the moment I'm vaguely suspicious of Thatwasademo and neutral towards kuu, Paradox and tau. Everyone else I would prefer not to vote out.
And if we are going with the random stuff, my b-day is 9th of May.

I also think the time for random voting has passed. We all have some opinions, right or wrong, about our fellow players. Choosing randomly makes sense when you feel you can't do better than random chance. We have 75 pages of information here that will help us do better than random chance.

And, yeah, I also think that a vote for me is a vote that could be better spent on suspected mafia. At this point, I'm like a townie except I don't win posthumously like regular townies do, and I probably don't win at all, but you don't have time to spend mercy killing me when you could be going after whoever killed michael and tamien and cricket and modrony and i forget who else. And we should give Keziah time to do her work if there is a Keziah.
