We aren't actually being very diligent about including our observers on things, so you might not find it rewarding, but people who aren't playing and promise to be good secret-keepers and don't want to play Round 2 if there is such a thing could get told stuff.

Well, I gather that observers are being told who has which role, and that alone is enough information to make it rewarding as far as I’m concerned. If so, I would like to be an observer. I promise to be a good secret‐keeper!

cbhacking mislocated this text in the game thread. I repost it here so it isn't lost, because it doesn't interfere directly with the game.

So... I haven't been following this at all (Mafia really isn't my cup of tea) but the InfoSec nerd in me *twitched* when I saw Daniel's post. The correct tool for this job, in several important ways, is PGP/GPG (GPG is the free/open source version). It is less arcane than interactive OpenSSL, is actually intended for encryption (and signing) of messages, and has significant use cases outside of whatever you need it for here.
