(An extrapolated alternate future, without the mysterious mind behind the NPCs.)

Thanks! Sable <3

I will feel like an idiot if Blue Terrarians are collectively a template I should recognize. Are they?
If multiple islands are a thing like in Cam's Terraria, do different islands have different controllers?

If you're an idiot, you're at least not alone. I don't recognize them as anything either. (Though I probably wouldn't, I didn't get female Ari for entirely too long and thought there was another Ari around somewhere for some reason.)
Re: Sandbox Discussions
They are not collectively a template you should recognize. I'm not even sure how a specific template could be recognizable through Terraria NPC dialogue alone with only two NPCs to crib dialogue from, there's not a ton to work with.
There are multiple islands! They will become relevant later when Sable is more established. And, nope. If there were one controller per island, the entity would be a lot less busy and would focus itself entirely on solving Sable's problems. As it is, it's got rather a lot on its plate right now, and can only try to solve all of Sable's problems while also working to not screw over other people it's helping.

I feel like I could probably recognize some templates through limited communication channels; I was at least fairly confident in ruling out an Adarin
What’s a rough order-of-magnitude on the number of active islands at any given time? Are they arranged in the same gridlike pattern, and does that have any basis in the game?

Re: Sandbox Discussions
Actual Terarria is a 2D sidescroller type thing, and 'going from one island to another' is logging out of one world and logging into a different one - you can use the same character in different worlds, so that bit is accurate, just presented in a way that makes more sense for the adaptation. (Also it's not especially uncommon, I don't think, for one player to have multiple worlds just for them and only use one character in all of them, which would translate to there being empty islands that Sable could find and take over, but, *shrug*.)DanielH wrote:Are they arranged in the same gridlike pattern, and does that have any basis in the game?

Re: Sandbox Discussions
The order of magnitude is something we haven't gotten to yet. It's quite a lot, though - there are definitely many islands that were once inhabited and whose inhabitants died, and there are even more empty/unclaimed islands. There's at least one other 'active' island, with a living inhabitant, and likely more, though the entity both doesn't count them and doesn't keep a close eye on them. Whether they can be reached by Sable within a lifetime is another matter entirely. The islands are arranged in the same gridlike pattern. In game you could never cross the ocean - the game works as Adelene describes. They're arranged in a grid because it plays to the cube-world style and fits the setting.
Out of curiosity, what made you rule out an Adarin as a possible collective template?

Re: Sandbox Discussions
I don’t remember. I had a reason, but I forgot what it is, and looking back I can’t figure it out again.
The entity doesn’t keep a close eye on the islands which are actively inhabited? Then how is it able to carry on a reasonably coherent conversation?
EDIT: I realized I might have misunderstood a pronoun reference for those questions, but I’m not sure what else “them” could refer to. Unless you mean the entity doesn’t keep a close eye specifically on the inhabitants (am I to take from this that Holly and Crystal are in the same world as Sable, even if they’re more than a lifetime’s travel away?) on the “at least one” other active island.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
Bad wording on my part, I apologize. Doesn't pay attention to all of them. Some are more interesting than others, or require more attention. Sable's pretty interesting.
Holly and Crystal might be in the same world as Sable, but the question is purely academic, as I don't foresee it coming up.
