I really don't see how. If an Addy has a winning condition along the lines of: 'try every/some percentage of existing powers', then it is very much in danger from Chelsea's friends. The cult would very much try to kill anyone who could unbrainwash people/is immune/can make others immune (killing people like that could very well be part of their win condition) - and that would be unacceptable to an Addy. And being worried about getting brainwashed and unable to do anything about it later on is very reasonable.

And frankly, I find the idea of a Chelsea helping to sniff out the mafia ludicrous . Why would a Chelsea care who the Mafia are? She's just going to make friends with everyone, so why does it matter what they are now?

After all that was discussed I was starting to doubt the certainty I first had when about the whole Chelsea!Daniel thing, but after Aestrix's post and my putting my own thoughts down, I think I'll stick with my original vote, even if many others seem convinced. I'm certainly not going to vote against Alphabeta, because it still seems more likely to me that he's the one telling the truth.

@pistachi0n: there are so many templates - both powerful and not - in Effulgence, that no one coming forward with a matching claim is not evidence of it being true.

And that casual mention by Alphabeta just now is certainly interesting...

@chicken--While there's no guarantee that a template will be used, a Chelsea or mafia claiming to be anything other than plain townie is a gamble that I don't think DanielH would take.

Hmmm, I suppose I don't know him well enough to judge. I don't think I'm going to change my mind at this point, though finding out I was wrong would certainly not be fun...

Alphabeta, it's also suspicious that you didn't accuse me of being a Chelsea until after I made a good argument defending DanielH. If I'm a Chelsea, why didn't you say so when you claimed Shoal is a Chelsea? It makes me think it's a tactic to discredit people who are voting to kill you.

I claimed you were Chelsea'd, not Chelsea herself. And I figured you might have an immunity to it I could copy and see if it had any interesting additional properties.

Sorry, when I said "a Chelsea" I meant part of the Chelsea's faction.

Right, so that means it was someone else's power roleblocking DanielH, and they could have been covering you on only one of the nights he used it on you. And it wasn't the protection power I've demonstrated - that doesn't work on the Chelsea power as far as Alicorn will tell me.

Or possibly you are trying to make it less fishy that you only claimed I was Chelsea'd after I voted to kill you.

So I've given this a lot of thought, and I don't really think Alpha is lying here. First of all, there's a whole lot of detail being given... if this was just made up I wouldn't expect this much detail. And second... I'm not sure what Alpha's play here is if he's lying. Assume for a moment he's lying. Then we have two possibilities. Possibility one: we don't believe him, and lynch and kill him. He loses. Possibility two: we do believe him, we lynch and kill DanielH... and then Alpha is revealed as a liar and we lynch and kill him the next day. I see no world in which Alpha is lying and it ends well for him. And I'm pretty sure Alpha knows that. So I don't think Alpha's lying.

Oh and to be clear, Alpha, if it does turn out you were lying, I'm voting to kill you tomorrow unless there are extremely exigent circumstance -- like someone more urgent to vote against. But that will only delay my voting against you.
