I started City of Angles. I liked it to begin with but then it completely dropped characters I was just getting used to and picked up new ones I didn't care about and I wasn't interested anymore.

Sailor Nothing is a dark magical girl fic. (That is, a dark [[magical girl] fic], not a [dark [magical girl]] fic.)

He has written *many more things*. I'm backing his Patreon, he's great. Which characters did you like in City of Angles? Most threads that were dropped get picked up. (He also is currently writing a new basically-human-AIs-in-cyberspace-society called Floating Point, which is probably going places but not really yet.)

I liked the initial bunch, the kid and the parent and the unremarkable newcomer, but even if they're going to get picked up I don't know that I want to wade through a lot of first chapters, I didn't like it that much and I found the amount of not knowing what was going on frustrating.

The kid and her dad are main characters through the whole thing, but 'no one knows what's going on, what's going on?' is the majority of the plot for the first two books.

Lots more. City of Angles, Unreal Estate, Floating Point, not to mention a bunch of Slayers fanfic...

@Alicorn - After the first four, five chapters you're done with introductions. At that point, people start meeting up by "chance" and plot threads tie in to each other.

After that, there's like one or two new characters a book.
