There is no penalty for a wrong guess. I feel like I would get more information by making one than by regular koans. It still seems to go against the spirit of it.

You can make a wrong guess, but if it's contradicted by something that has already been shown I will merely point to it and you will gain no new information; if it hasn't, however, that's actually a pretty smart idea to get the Master to help.

So for a while single letters alternate between yes and no: a no, b yes, c no, d yes, e no, f yes, g no, h yes, i no, j yes -- but by that rule "o" should be a no, and it's a yes. Which is odd.
