NB: At least one of the Vorkosigan stories in the collection (Winterfair Gifts) has hella formatting issues to the point where I find it barely readable. I've been trying to fix that, but it's slow going. If anyone finds other books in the epub or pdf sets that are also fucked up, I'd appreciate knowing about it so I can put them on the list to be fixed.

I would love a copy of the e-books. pdfs or epub are both fine. Thanks.

Is there anyone in the massive multiverse that is wholly unique? Like there isn't and will never be an alt of them? And not for 'Alicorn/kappa/Aestrix/ect doesn't feel like writing them again' reasons.

I can't think of anyone I write who is non-duplicable - even in cases like the admin, there are different continuities of her in different sandboxes and so forth and theoretically multiple of those could meet. It's not likely that they would, but it's possible.

Basically I'm way too fond of putting the same characters in different situations to ever write a character who could only possibly appear in exactly one universe in exactly one way and couldn't ever meet an alt of themselves. The only reasons I ever have for not making alts of someone are "their template is hard to transplant/doesn't fit easily into any prospective universes" (Miles, but it's possible we're going to do multiple Nexus 'verses in Effulgence) or "I don't care about them enough to want to make more".

I'm much the same as Kappa in my characters - I like seeing them in different circumstances, and having them turn out to be entirely different people. If I like them they will show up multiple times, if I don't, they get ignored.

I think Rae and Seraphina are my only two that have no plans for alts at this time. Rae might have one eventually, but he's hard to pull off in universes that aren't Pantheon. Seraphina's similar, she only really works in very specific circumstances, because she has this habit of fading into the background. It might happen, but it's sort of unlikely. Rae will only show up if an Idania is present, because he's really more fun when she's around. Seraphina may or may not never show up, in normal circumstances she's rather boring. Perinixu will probably never show up again, because she's just not that interesting and the entire reason for her existence is, 'Spring needs a god to worship and she will not go with Rae.'

I'm in about the same boat. If I'm interested enough to do it once, I'm probably interested enough to do it twice, although some characters I consider NPCs and am therefore not technically that interested in the first place, and others are unlikely to be the best fit for intriguing roles beyond their first even if I could technically find places to put them if I tried, and others have complicated requirements for their existence.

I find it is a little weird that Soph isn't unique per multiverse (though it seems like the Key is?) I always liked the pure fanon that the Key was more of a thing for Dawn than just her backstory, and could be used for cool powers that didn't involve destroying the multiverse, which makes it a little sad that there can be Sophs bereft of their rightful Keyness.

If we can have Bellas who don't become vampires then I think there can be Sophs who aren't Keys.

Considering how absurdly comprehensive the Key-to-human spell is, it wasnt that surprising that Soph is a *actually* the proper younger-bell-sibling to me.

Anyway.

If Bella died in that standard car accident, how would her siblings react?
