I seem to have lost track of one of the five daeva the GCP asked the Elves to arrest. The ones I remember are:
  • Jake (Torture Fairy): Crime: torturing seven of the twelve factory farm CEOs to death; extenuating circumstances: it ended factory farming; status: semi-asylum in Valinor
  • Hostage demon: Crime: taking hostages, murdering one of them; extenuation circumstances: The Pegasus Cycle is really good and the second book is tied up in publishing (still? How long has he been dodging his circle?); status: 30 Years probation
  • Makeover angel: Crime: Nonconsentually altering people's appearance beyond recognition; extenuating circumstances: none given; status: bound to not leave Heaven
  • Arson angel: Crime: Arson; extenuating circumstances: panic attack, pulled fire alarm then remembered that should only happen when the building is on fire; status: bound to not leave Heaven
Was the last one that demon who murdered his summoner for not letting him go? What’s his situation?

Also I am not a Maitimo and do not remember most of these characters’ names.

You are missing explosions demon, who made friends with the arson angel and eventually they both took safety summons and went home.

Ah, okay.

Earlier in Room of Requirement, Bar said diseases didn’t transfer via Milliways. Her exact words don’t cover this situation but in context they were also asking about carriers going to other worlds. Since this isn’t Dreamwidth, the easiest fix would probably be adding an “unless they were already experiencing symptoms” or something.

Technically she said patrons did not need to worry about carrying foreign diseases *home*. Vissi carried a disease not-home.

Yes, which is why I said her exact words didn’t cover this. But the context was people carrying Singularity’s plague around, and Bright had visited Godspring. Usually Bar doesn’t respond with irrelevant facts.

Although this does open up plot possibilities of the “suddenly there are billions more daeva because somebody killed Sauron and his plague got everywhere” kind.

I fucking love how everyone else was freaking out and Theodore just decided to solve the problem.

I read this before reading the thread, and I was really impressed, and then I read the thread and was disappointed that he only solved the minor problem (pun intended) instead of the major one.

Does Hazel have unbreakable vows? This might be a nicer choice for the daeva than memory spells. But there have been a few other situations that unbreakable vows would be useful for that they haven't. I remember reading some things where the vow kills the vower if they break it (might not work on daeva? hasn't been tried), and some where it just makes it impossible like an oath. I also don't remember if it takes up a piece of the binder's magic forever in canon, which would be another reason not to use it. Or it might not have been developed yet?

In canon we see one instance, with three people involved (vower, binder, and... vowee? vow-receiver?), and Ron said you die if you break it. Costs other than that weren’t discussed.

HPMoR changed it to literally unbreakable, and added the sacrificed trust and sacrificed magic.

And they'd have to make the other daeva wizards so they can do it. That possibility is still secret. (And if the daeva stop being wizards, it's anyone's guess whether the Vow stays attached.)
