...So I'm rereading the MLP one and while Joy doesn't quite seem unambiguously happy about it he did say he loved his parents so what I'm curious about is if Equestria has such a high cotton candy ratio that a Joker could say that about his jokerparents with a straight face or such a high cotton candy ratio that he got to have a Harley childhood.

You guys are awesome."They're numbered, you know, the bills, what else do you usually expect money to do, fold itself into origami birds?"

Yes, I love that every time I get to it. I hope Robin gets perfect memory, and does so before she hears about EoS and EoR currency, so that she remembers this conversation.

I generally hate giving my characters perfect memory because it means I can't excuse my authorial memory lapses with in-universe ones, and my memory is pretty good but falls well short of perfect.

If Loki had lived in a world with the same strong gender roles but more acceptance for transgender royalty, what would have happened? She is actually cis, but I would imagine she would prefer being gendered male and allowed to do sorcery than gendered female and not.

Re: There should be an Effulgence thread
If by declaring herself A Boy she could both hope to ascend to the throne and do all the magic she damn well pleased without having to have any inconvenient anatomy adjustments for legitimizing this declaration, she'd declare herself A Boy, adjust her promiscuity-related habits if necessary, and arrange to be way too busy to fret about the details of exactly how everyone around her was being stupid until and unless an opportunity to address this came up.
She'd rather do magic on the sly than trade in her shot at the throne for the chance to practice openly, though, so it couldn't be exactly the same strong gender roles to get her to go for it.
