Okay so almost none of the tags so far are what I actually picture as 'tags' xD like, most of them are things I plan to build features for separately but haven't yet, so it makes total sense! Mostly, I picture Setting and Content Warnings eventually being built upon tags but being considered their own thing instead of 'tags', and I should probably add a search feature for Templates, so yeah, those make sense. But people who have been tagging posts with authors or characters- I would love input on what you're looking for out of using tags that you don't already have?

Would it be possible to disambiguate tags as in labels that can be applied with tags as in telling another author that it’s their turn to post? Perhaps the system Marri described in the above post could be called “labels” instead or something?

"Labels" seems reasonably tidy.

I like it on its own merits, but it does push Glowfic jargon that one step further from outside usage.

Yeah, I feel like if we're renaming something, tags as in "it's your turn to post" is the one to go with, for consistency with the rest of the world? I think the only place I even use it like that is "tags owed" which feels straightforwards to change to "posts owed".

The word “label” is pretty standard; it’s English and some programs like GMail already use it in this sense. If somebody can suggest an alternative to “tag” in the “tag, you’re it” sense, I’m also not sure it will catch on as easily.

Yeah, gmail uses "labels", and re-standardizing a community's use of language is really hard. The "tag, you're it" usage descends ultimately from the Livejournal/etc roleplaying tradition, and that site design has entry tags, and the double meaning has existed for ages - decades, I think, at this point - and yet everyone still says "tag" and refers ambiguously to "tags", in the branch of that community with which I'm most familiar. If we want to resolve the ambiguity, changing what the site says is going to be easier than changing what people say.

I have pulled out Setting and Content Warning tags into their Own Things. You can still use standard tags. You can also search by setting cause it was easy. I can turn people's existing tags into Settings if you tell me which ones; I already changed the one content warning tag. Also I turned off editing tags for people-not-me cause I haven't yet tested that editing won't break the new subtypes.

I added breadcrumbs to the post edit page, it was bothering me.

Throne fixed a UI error where you could set a Board Section to belong to any continuity. (It didn't work if you tried to save it, but the UI was confusing about it.)

Throne took a crack at a (plausibly better) way of cleaning up missed closing tags without impacting display too much. It's just on the display side, not saved to the database, so switching back is easy if anyone sees weirdness like last time, just let me know.

I accidentally overpadded replies when I made my tables more compact; Throne fixed it.

Throne pointed out a bug where you couldn't remove all the tags from a post once they were added; I fixed it.

AND NOW SLEEP OOPS

Posts now show a ! in the list if they have content warnings, plus the icons look slightly less weird now.

I removed Site Testing posts from Recently Updated at Kappa's request

I added a "posts with instances of this template" to the Template#show page. Maybe people will stop tagging templates now xD ngl probably going to delete author/character/template/setting-but-saved-as-tag-and-recreated-as-setting posts shortly.
