If we're still talking about tenner fake time looping the coins required are so big that they're an instant win condition anyway. Could be interesting otherwise maybe.

Single tenners are not necessarily instant win conditions, but a handful combined are in at least most cases (assuming they’re declawed). I don’t think they have interworld abilities (except between otherwise connected worlds), which is probably their biggest limitation.
Could a single tenner make somebody both a masochist and a mint? I expect a single star would be up to that task, but I’m not sure.

A star could prolly do that if it was a "single wish" deal at all, of which I am unsure.

So when Shell Bell asked Tony if he had any friends that wanted immortaling and he said no, that sounded kind of like a story.
Also, unless I miss my guess, Effulgence has not yet reached the actual Avengers movie in Yggdrasil? I would be very surprised if Steve did not end up requesting Bucky back at that point, if Tony brings up Things.

Yeah, Yggdrasil is pre-Avengers.

The story with Tony iirc is that he offered Rhodey immortality and Rhodey turned it down for reasons (in nearly all of the situations where Rhodey is likely to die, it would cause Awkward Questions were he to mysteriously revive on the spot, and since apparently death is just a matter of paperwork anyway, being immortal would cause more problems than it solved), and Tony had emotions about this but did not feel like discussing any part of the situation with the Bells.

I just reread
nautical, and I’m wondering something about Ariel/Jade there. Cymbeline asks about it too, but he changed the topic quickly.
Why isn’t she better at haggling? She really wants legs, but
even the salesperson said they weren’t very good but her voice was. I understand that she considered the trade worthwhile (or she wouldn’t have made it), but I would still have thought she’d have recognized that she could get a better deal. I would expect that, if they had reason to be, Jokers in general could be very good at haggling. Most Jokers probably would not haggle much in practice because they don’t care about money, but she liked her voice and I would have expected she’d work at least a bit harder to keep it.

Short answer: Phase.
Slightly longer answer: She thought of a way to get permanently beyond her father's reach. That dwarfs all other concerns so completely that she genuinely didn't care what she had to give up to get it. There are probably things she wouldn't have traded, but the thread accurately depicts exactly how much she cared about trading her voice in particular.

See, I'd have at least wanted to bargain myself a bonus magic of some description. Shitty legs and also laser eyes, or something.

Okay, phase makes sense. Having a voice makes it less likely she’d need to run back to the witch for another chance, which would increase her chances of being caught by her dad, but I could see the desperation and hope overpowering the fear if she’d even thought of that. She was still at the phase where fear of her dad catching her if she failed was a strong motivator though, right?
The thread says “[t]here are things in this ocean she fears”. Would all of these things be traceable back to Triton? I was a bit surprised it was even plural.
