The first two are showing up using Segoe UI Symbol for me, and the last one seems to be rendered fine in "Trebuchet MS" (which the forum apparently uses?). This is with Chrome on Windows 10. Firefox (on Windows 10) seems to be rendering it exactly the same as Chrome is. It mentions that it's using "Segoe UI Symbol" and "Trebuchet MS" again, for that block of text, and displays it in a similarly weird way.

They also all appear on Firefox for Android (5.1.1), but the "smaller" (second) blob shows up slightly bigger than the first blob, and also slightly oddly positioned – I assume they're being rendered with different fonts. The smallest blob is indeed the smallest blob. They are, however, colored properly.

The "text mode" symbol doesn't seem to have affected anything. It's probably best to stick to the flags for compatibility purposes, even though the circles would be neat.

Borders seem like they could work, but they'd probably have to be narrow and maybe dashed/faded to prevent them from being visually unappealing/intrusive. Unless you meant a border on the user-box of a post, instead of the whole post, in which case it seems like it might work?

I'd personally prefer colored blobs next to usernames instead of large borders, so if it could be a user-configurable option that'd be nice.

Can't speak for Rockeye, but I don't want one because it seems arbitrary. Neither of us is easily confused with other existing colors, though, so it's hopefully not especially important.

I currently decline to pick a secondary colour because I just went through the trouble of picking my first one and I don't want to pick another one right now. Besides, I am not currently actively glowficcing.

I think it might make sense to do it that people's secondary colors start out the same as their primary, and they can pick an actual secondary when they need one? Which might not ever come up for e.g. Rockeye.

Is it preferable for me and Alicorn to go with the single colours, or pick up secondaries? Whose moiety colours are close enough that they should really take secondaries for disambiguation purposes?

Mine and lintamande's are pretty close, mine being basically a lighter version of it. I accept suggestions.
