I'm also interested in sandboxing:
Welcome to night vale
American Horror Story (I think the immortal ghosts from the first season have promise. I've been thinking of interesting ways to turn the scenario to their advantage)

And because I'm feeling nostalgic for childhood cartoons:
Teen titans
Yu-gi-oh (though not the card games themselves)
Naruto

Ah, Teen Titans. Much nostalgia. I never saw why Cyborg did not have a tank.

I'd like to glowfic Scott Westerfield's Leviathan

I vaguely remember reading that.
Also, I loved his Midnighter series.
A lot of his stories would make for a good sandbox actually.
Uglies/Pretties/Specials, Midnighters, even peeps.

I just read the Bartimaeus prequel and I have an urge to slot a Theo or Sam in his place, in either a modern or ancient period.

I am always excited to do a Bartimaeus story!
I could replace Asmira or King Solomon with one of my characters?

I am curious about Yu-gi-oh, but not sure I want to play. I could play Nightvale and AHS if the stories are interesting enough.

THE MISSED OPPORTUNITY!

Could anyone give me the non-spoilery summary of this world/story. Same deal for Bartimaeus? I couldn't glean much from the sandbox

For myself, I am willing to play non-original settings, but I am on a mood for "Put two characters in Milliways" kind of sandbox which can feature characters from any setting original or otherwise.

So Shadows Of The Limelight is done and is receiving its explanatory appendices, and I love this setting. Anyone want to stick characters into it? I am prepared to be the world for any of the canon timeline, a variant world with my characters replacing the illustrati of the Zenith or some of the Allunio (or both), or the setting pushed forward by a century or so (with or without multistrati). This has a list of all domains you can be an illustrati of, and the first appendix covers the known rules of the magic; the short version is 'fame gives you magic mojo, every person has a particular domain affinity and gains the ability to create, manipulate, and use it based on how much mojo you have'.

I kind of want to do a game of Baron Munchausen set in the SotL world. Seems like they'd mesh together really well (and it's effectively something the protagonists/most illustrati are already doing IC)...

That would be extremely, extremely appropriate.

I don't want to upload the PDF again, so I hope everyone with an interest in Baron Munchausen already downloaded it. Or we could do an informal "inspired by" version.
