Ooh, nice colour blocks. I'm stealing those for inclusion in the colour list.

The only colors I can think of that are obviously distinct and unclaimed are ██ Black and ██ White.

Some reasonably distinct shades of existing colors:
██ Cornflower blue
██ Dark blue
██ Dark red
██ This thing, which is apparently called "strong cerise"
██ Bright green
██ Dark green
██ Yellow
██ Mustard
██ Magenta
██ Light pink
██ Hot pink

Notably, in non-index use cases, colors do not have to be visually distinguished. They're just used as words, e.g. "so-and-so meets some pinks" or "these are the Bells I can isolate from blue and purple contexts".

Looking at that makes me super tempted to pick up a Doc Scratch character that only speaks in white.

Personally all these adjective-colors sound too confusing. I would suggest using... dunno, any random thing like gemstones, metals or other materials instead.


Also, I wanted to ask: Why people are picking the colors they are picking?

As yellow is not taken can I be its close cousin lime?

Does ██ Kuuskytkolme: Lime work for you or are you dead set on the brightbright version?

I can live with that too.

@Bluelantern I think my choosing orange either led to or was a result of my decision to have a "sun" theme with index titles, and both decisions are thematically connected to the novel project I'm pulling most of my characters from.
