Does anyone know of a way for me to download all the icons in an InsaneJournal page without having to drag them one by one into my computer?

I don't know InsaneJournal too well, but do browser extensions like DownThemAll do the job?

Yep! Apparently so, if I limit to only images of 100x100 pixels

NOW I AM SWIMMING IN ICONS

I would like some faces for my characters! I believe this would be an improvement over the absence thereof! I think it might even improve my writing by making me think about picking an icon (and therefore implied state of mind).

I tried looking for myself once, but the problem is that I am no good at faces. I have to use the helpful tooltips sometimes to figure out what the connotations of particular icons other characters use are supposed to be. I have no inherent opinions about what my characters look like, and their only instantiation so far is not-quite-an-Earth so I can’t even narrow down to ethnic groups.

So, if you’ve got any suggestions for great faces that nobody’s taken yet, I’m interested. Here’s all the vague criteria I’ve managed to think of:

Thanjen / wind_on_my_face
  • Looks: Male. A bit weather-worn.
  • Generally cheerful.
  • Hypothetical labels for icons: exhilarated, not gonna walk away from this,
Teytis / synchrosyntheses
  • Looks: Female.
  • Generally solemn, at least when people are looking.
  • Hypothetical labels for icons: I Am Interacting With You In My Professional Capacity, awkward situation
Unnamed third character who isn’t well enough defined to show up yet but I might as well ask about anyway
  • Looks: I dunno.
  • Hypothetical labels for icons: I Am Doing This Fiddly Job Please Do Not Interrupt Me
(This list feels kind of terrible and incomplete but I've already been not-finishing-it for a month or so...)

I’d particularly like to end up with icon sets for everyone that include some distinctly “concentrating/not looking at you/telepathy” faces (hands being in frame maybe a thing?).

I have been picturing Thanjen as the Pokémon Latios, or occasionally Latias or Lugia, on account of his introduction as glassy white bird people.

Poked Hollow Art a bit. The first face that my brain thought probably looked like Thanjen was Blair Redford. Went in reverse alphabetical order for girls and the first one my brain stopped on was Zoe Loveland, but I'm not sure if that set of icons has enough emotional range for your purposes.

So, uh. (Disclaimer that negative comments are easier to think of than positive ones.)

Blair Redford: my first reaction is “too young and pretty”. But I suspect that's a problem with, you know, actors in general. I think it'll work well enough; now I just need to figure out how to understand facial expressions enough to pick a subset and use them correctly (I'll probably ask for confirmation on that).

Zoe Loveland: The face is good, but that icon set is way too Fashion Shoot.

I hear "weather worn" and my first thought is Jorah Mormont (okay so his name is actually Iain Glen but shhhh doesn't matter)

Edit: Also "generally cheerful" is not a phrase I would apply to him, icons might suffer.
