Potential bug report: All of Alicorn’s icons across multiple characters seem to be glitching. This is Sun-Times but bit always fixed by reloading the page. If it happened for all authors I would think it was my device, but it doesn’t seem to. Another possible explanation is that she is messing with her icons while I’m trying to load the page maybe?

Glitching like how? Any thread(s) in particular?

They were replaced with their alt text. It isn’t happening right now. It happened in the Cam and Space Elves thread, the Annie and Eddie thread, and the Kiri in Arda thread at least. The other authors’ icons were unaffected.

I scraped all of Alicorn's characters/icons for her from Dreamwidth. A good two thirds of all Dreamwidth icons on the Constellation are Alicorn's. My naive guess is that something was up with Dreamwidth's image hosting, and it was just most obvious from Alicorn's posts.

There are a lot of ways for characters to be ambiguous. Here's a test sheet of the ones I've thought of / discovered, so far.

Does the Constellation even handle the one space two three test, or does that get eaten by HTML default whitespace rules?

EDIT: This forum, for example, eats extra spaces

If you use the RTF editor it alternates with regular spaces and non-breaking spaces, which gets around the default HTML rules. If you use the HTML editor, it'll use default rules.

I've noticed that all of Alicorn's threads are in Sandboxes&Oneshots, even when there are multiple such threads in a continuity. This bugs me, but I have no idea what the reasons are behind it or how tractable it would be to fix.

Updates:

• Throne3d fixed a bug where you could view a private post by going directly to one of its /replies instead of the /post link. The /replies page now also validates view permissions.
• Timepoof's actual layout, Milky River, is now up
• I finally sorted out the weirdness with my Paypal account. There is now a Contribute link if anyone is interested in chipping in for hosting costs.

Also I have identified why marking a post ignored or unignored also marks it as read: because of how I use updated_at. This bothers me and is non optimal and fixing it is now on the to do list.

Throne3d also pointed out that marking a thread On Hiatus does not remove it from Tags Owed. This made sense to me, as the post isn't done and therefore yes, you still owe the post, but it's also paused so maybe not? I could leave it as is, I could move them to their own section, I could come up with a way to hide things from unread (probably on the list eventually anyway). Do people have thoughts?

I was going to have an upgrade to the unread posts and view hidden posts pages done, but it took longer than expected and I wanted to get the above pushed before I went to dinner. So have this for now, more later hopefully. Ugh I'm just so tired all the time, why does being a manager require so much socializing.

I think it would probably be tidiest to have, like, a separate section or an option or something, for hiatused posts in Tags Owed. I find it really useful to be able to see what hiatused posts I owe tags in, but kind of separately from the use I get out of seeing the non-hiatused ones. (This might actually be a useful generic option when viewing any list of threads, to be able to choose which of In Progress, Hiatused, and Complete threads you see? IDK.)
