What Auras nonbells and nonjokers should get? What Elspeth aura should do?

It's actually really hard to think of interesting aura features, so I don't have anything down for anybody of mine except the Bells.

Well, Elsie doesnt sound too hard. You can follow her mother template of "specie-ness" + "witch power finess". So Elspeth would advertise her hybrid status and do somethinh with her native power, you can break the native power bit in two aspects if you feel like hybrid aura is not cool enough. A witchy finess aura could make Elspeth power: "not" overload someone's mind unless she wants to, allowing Elspeth to share arbitrary amounts of information with humans; patch the disonesty problem; allow her to attempt the "truth prophecy thing" better and on purpose; allow 2-way communication.

I keep meaning to have the Libbies acquire auras, and then not being able to come up with good ones and therefore deferring it until some vague later time.

Guess most Libbys do not differ from each other much.
Give them an aura of Math with inbuilt PowerPoint. :)

these things she can already do.

so that leaves: being able to lie, being better at the truth prophecy thing, and 2 way communication.

I think an aura that makes Elsie able to lie would be like an aura that makes Bella comfortable with having her mind read.

Not only that, an aura that made Elsie any more able to lie than she already is would actually make her truth-telling power less effective overall. Like, if she ever demonstrated an ability to say false things and sound honest, Felicity would be about 80% likely to run away immediately.

Yeah. I added the lie thing most for brainstorm purpose

Libbies lack enough screen time that you could add a couple of relevant personality traits for each one?

Gift-Libby is the easiest, she has a power and the aura could relate to it, maybe she can sense someone's lifeforce and their traits (if they are immortal, have regeneration or torchability)

James could have something from her part-demonic heritage and/or slayer role. Maybe the slayer part allow her to sense weakness and vulnerabilities, and a stronger ability to sense demons/vampires

Other aura-traits could be: the ability to sense "useful" people; the ability to attract useful people; the less moral ability to look like an ally (not a friend, but someone on your side)

EDIT: You know, there is pretty much no excuse for Kers not having an aura, it would likely relate to her gift and her gift protects the time sync. She should have one even if the others dont

...could Jane get an aura? She's a Device now, and Brilliance has an aura and he's a device, so she probably *could*. Or, wait, IIRC she didn't have a mindscape? Hrrrm.

Kers's Gift has very little to do with the time sync. Kers can help with the time sync because she is a cyborg, which is unrelated to her Gift.
