So, thinkin' about Dusk stories in this setting - how does locking down work? Is it reversible or resistible, and if so, how?

It's reversible (from the outside). You can resist it if you are yourself an advanced psion and you can turn it into psychic combat instead of an in-and-out, otherwise not so much.

Innnteresting.
I'm not sure Dusk is the character I'd want to do it with in particular, but it sounds like there's a story to be had there that would closely parallel the (cw: medical mistreatment of a child)
Ashley Treatment one. (Note that "static encephalopathy" is in this case a fancy/distracting way of saying cerebral palsy, and there's basically no actual reason to assume she doesn't have a normal intellect; there have been cases of people with around her level of physical impairment eventually being taught alternative communication methods and e.g. going to college.)

There is enough demand for eclipsed that there would be some pressure to at least try putting her in VR and seeing what happens, but it'd ultimately be up to her guardians, sure.

Of the characters I've glowficced so far; Aladdin snd Juliette are subs. Though Juliette seems to want to present as a dom. Genie is asexual always, ao nondynamic.
Constantine is a switch and really has no fucks about presenting one way or the other.
And though I haven't glowficced her yet and only really Bluelantern would know who I am talking about, June is a dom. The dom-iest dom to ever dom.

Suzy is switchy and probably presents as switch, but marks sub on paper if there's any real pressure; she is comfortable subbing or chaotic switching.
Arthur is not particularly inclined to dynamic, but might end up dom-by-default. He'd probably mark that down on paper.
Theo is a natural dom but immensely annoyed by the entire system.
Sam kind of skates by faking whatever is convenient, but when pressed will probably go with dom. He doesn't actually seem to have dynamic preferences about relationships and may be ace like Alex.

To the people whose characters dislike the dynamic, do you mean their templates don't like it or do you mean an instance in this actual world wouldn't like it? 'Cause to a very large extent it's as normal as (or more normal than) gender in that world, and of course lots of people don't like gender but it's curious that so many characters who otherwise don't object to gender would object to the dynamic in this world.

For Theo, it's both, and they sorta link together.
I think it's specifically the details of the standards and preconceptions. Theo doesn't like the idea of being fixed into either role (he definitely doesn't like it, though he'd pick dom if he had to, and his template doesn't seem to want to force him into a scenario like that). He could be switch, but he'd want to be on the dom side of switch, and he still wouldn't be happy as a switch and would probably want to boycott the whole system, but since that would make him a bit much of an outcast (I'm guessing), he might just stick to either dom or switch and stay with it, being very generally annoyed with everything.
It's probably because the template idea cropped up with the background understanding that he would be a gender, so that's a thing that is now incorporated into the idea, whereas it didn't have the background understanding that he'd have to pick between dom and sub (and switch), so that's a thing that hasn't been included and that it doesn't want to have to include.

A lot of purples turn out to have "fundamentally dissatisfied with dom/sub as a binary" shake out of their base personality traits. I wasn't quite expecting the normalization/universalization of D/s to take the fun out of sex for Eights, but in retrospect it's obvious that it would work that way.

Nick has grudgingly answered that he'd pick dom just to avoid being labelled 'switch', but it's not like he'd ever act on it.
