Being in a situation where they conquer their own emotional issues is one thing, being in a situation where they never have any at all is something completely different. The former is fine, an Adarin could conceivably work their way up to being emotionally healthy and his fellow Adarins would be outrageously jealous, but not 'You are NO LONGER AN ADARIN.' The latter is not. Outside force acting on them without permission versus them acting upon themselves/reacting to the environment they choose to put themselves in.

I feel like I should clarify the nature of the "emotional unhealthiness" that Bells like.
I made this comment a while ago, it's relevant. Bells want to
matter. They want to matter not solely in the sense that somebody, all else being equal, would kinda rather have them around.
Bells do not have the godlike emotional health that would take. Bells want to matter intensely and in the sense that (the world, their loved ones, etc.) will consider it an irrecoverable disaster worthy of much gnashing of teeth if they're gone. Bells want to be keystones and major active ingredients and The Chosen One, they want to be essential and irreplaceable and specifically deeply
necessary.
They would not design a world to need them, because if they're present at the design stage what the world needs from them is "not that". If they're designing a world they will make it perfect and then kill time.
But if they're designing a
partner? If they're specifically trying to fill
their own emotional desires? Then fuck yes, bring on the necessary half-a-teaspoon of emotional unhealth that a Bell can
soothe just by existing, and then she'll just carry on existing and everything will be fine, right? Is her gloss on the situation.

I think that’s almost what I meant by “the circumstances under which the problems show up”. Sherlocks have emotional issues where they treat themselves as only important for instrumental value, and being around loved ones does not help very much. Adarins have emotional issues where they use themselves up as resources, but when Bells are around they don’t do that as much. In this case, the circumstances are “always” vs. “when left unchecked”. The latter is preferable both because when they’re around there isn’t as much problem and because they’re helping.
Is this a fair understanding?

Mm, you're right but this feels sort of peripheral to me.

Irrelevant to the question of whether Bell being necessary to her Adarin implies any emotional unhealthiness on either of their parts, I am basically envisioning the datemate-o-matic as a particularly shipperish BEE (or perhaps more specifically, a particularly shipperish instance of the template-dispenser in the breakroom).

I'm kinda picturing it being the BEE for a Simsverse, actually. Seems thematically appropriate somehow.

What's a BEE? And I...know what the breakroom is, basically, I think, but I didn't realize it had a literal template dispenser. Is there actually consumable content for this thing?

Breakroom-Enabled Entity, and AFAIK there is only meta so far.

Isabella and Realist would both steadfastly refuse to push the button.
However, I'm pretty sure not pushing the button disqualifies you from being an Eva.

Let's see, my only strong template so far being Sadde...
Saddes don't really
need romance but they have a strong desire for it. And they want someone who will
help fix things, who is curious and does good, someone who thinks things through. And a lot. They like people who think a lot. And if they trust the person to be able to do good, or do good better than them, or have a comparative advantage in doing good, then they are perfectly comfortable being bossed around or guided in how to best do good. They would want a partner they could run ideas past, who could meaningfully criticise them and challenge them. And finally, someone who can counterbalance their innate recklessness/wildcard-ness is a bonus (note that this characteristic is not necessarily present in
all Saddes but most, to varying degrees, always with causal factors behind it). Confidence and badassitude are also very attractive to them.
Ssssoooo... They could definitely date a Bell, a Revan, probably a Libby, an Isaac, and I haven't read much glowfic so out of the glowfic I have read that is it. They would be major sluts around Jokers but would probably not fall in love with one. They'd definitely want to be sluts around Tonys and Sherlocks, but also would probably not fall in love with either.
--Edit:
Kappa has pointed out to me that Saddes could probably date late-phase Jokers, and upon reflection I think this is probably true!
