Provided the user doesn't delete the email, yeah, it would probably group them right, and provided all the previous email IDs can be retrieved for threads that are ongoing, but then it's still different for each user in the thread and it wouldn't be much extra effort to just save the ID of the most recently sent email instead, I don't think, as well as the fact that... that's not really intended how that header is supposed to be used, I don't think.

Currently, the only way to make a new continuity (that I know of) is from the button on the Continuities page.

This seems... silly.

There should probably be a way to do it in the same page while you're creating or editing a post and choosing what continuity it belongs to.

Also, is there a way to edit continuities? If not, there should be.

Also also, is there a way to have more than two authors specified for a continuity without invoking Anyone? That one hasn't come up yet to my knowledge, but it might.

Also^3, "PB" and "Played By" might be less ambiguous if they said "Facecast" instead.

The continuities page is rapidly getting ... impressive. I know there's plans in the works to do some restructuring, but for the moment, perhaps "Sandboxes & Oneshots" merits its own section or being put at the top of the list or otherwise segregated from the general riffraff?

Also, it might be nice if people's author pages -- the ones you get to by clicking on their names -- had a "message me" link.

ETA: oh, and: I have no idea how hard this would be to implement, but if it's reasonably easy, it would be super cool if the mini-updates post is automatable enough that it could be incorporated into the constellation as a feature. Like, when subscribing to threads, you could choose a notifications option, and instead of getting emails with every new post you could get a summary email once a day for all your subscribed threads, analogous in format to the mini-updates post.

It might also be a good idea to separate short continuities from larger ones. To my knowledge there are no longer ones yet on the Constellation, but Effulgence is qualitatively different from, say, Amounts of Dragon even though the latter still has multiple threads and multiple worlds.

Updates:

• There is now a (very boring looking) dropdown of icon keywords below the icon image in the form when you're writing a new tag. <3s for Alicorn for finding both a Firefox bug and a character switching bug.
• All instances of PB/Played By I could find were changed to Facecast instead; hopefully this is less confusing.
• Coauthors should now have board editing permissions.
• Throne3d was nice enough to fix a weird CSS thing when you had a list in your tag.
• Timepoof was nice enough to make a monochrome layout
• There is a (Send Message) link on a user's author page now.

@Kappa Continuities with >2 authors and a way to create continuities when creating/editing a post are both now on the To Do list.

@Moriwen It's on my To Do list but most email stuff is listed as Version 2 just cause it'll cause me another $7 a month on top of the $10 I'm already paying. Once Dreamwidth is less of a thing (SO MANY BELLVES THREADS) I should be able to automate the report into a webpage, at least, that's free :) Or I could have notifications on the site, same as when you get a message or something like that, but that could plausibly stack up quickly and maybe people just want to wait for email?

Quick summary of my Continuity design for Moriwen/Daniel:

I am creating a thing called a Board Section which is... basically the bullet points in Effulgence/Incandescence. I picture Continuities as something that involves more than one section. So for instance: Witchlight is a continuity, its sections would be Lumos and Sunday and Myth, each section has its own threads. As part of building this, I expect most existing continuities will turn into sections within Sandboxes. (...of course, how to then navigate Sandboxes becomes its own question.) And yes, I would expect Effulgence to still be a continuity but, say, Amounts of Dragon to be a section within Sandboxes, the way Alicorn has it on her index thread.

I feel like it would be super super weird to have little baby continuities with no subsections of their own all turn into subsections of Sandboxes as though Sandboxes was a single huge connected continuity with lots of chapters. I guess because there's no natural ordering between totally unrelated sandboxes the way there is between sections/chapters of a continuity...?

There is no natural ordering of the sections of Witchlight, Pixiethreads, or Radon Absinthe, and much of the ordering for Incandescence and Effulgence is artificial anyway. It still feels weird to treat Sandboxes like a single continuity but I think it might be the best solution.

Yep, that's pretty much the problem. I could lessen the impact by sorting out "Sandboxes" as in longer form plottish sandboxes from "Oneshots" like Milliways encounters from "Solo" which I've seen a few of go by, but that still leaves Sandboxes in a weird overloaded and semi-unrelated-to-itself kind of state.

Yeah. idk man. I feel like there's got to be some way to deal with that - like, I think mainly by recognizing that Sandboxes *isn't* a continuity and figuring out what its needs are since they aren't the same as the needs of actual continuities.

Of course, I say that and then I try to think of specifics and come up totally blank...
