Why is Watch Your Step not gonna be in Silmaril?

It might be. It has a couple substantial peal implications but they're not necessarily prohibitive. We just haven't decided that it *is* going to be in Silmaril yet.

I was wondering the same thing about the Annie & Elves threads. That would have some different substantial implications which may or may not be prohibitive.

iirc, I don't think anything set in the At The End Of All Things era is going to make it into Silmaril because linta and Alicorn have decided that Ardas are not embryonic Earths and so it would complicate things. Could be wrong about that, though.

Yeah, in Silmaril proper we are avoiding committing to Ardas turning into Earths, although I suppose we could change our mind at some point.

Elves downloading music?

Elves being offended by MP3 compression?

(Which is, after all, carefully designed around the limits of human hearing.)

While trying to figure out who Maira was (I suspected it was Sauron but wasn’t sure), I forgot that all the names were changed in this thread and Googled the name. Apparently there are people actually named Maira Maia.

I vaguely recall encountering Sauron under the name of Mairon in one of the earlier Silmaril threads, but honestly I just kind of assumed Maira was Sauron on the basis that she fit the profile too well to be anyone else.

Feanarë's reaction is interestingly non-standard, under the usual circumstances she's not at all inclined to let Nolofinwë take charge. I'm guessing this is a combination of the Silmarils being unfinished (giving her something helpful she can work on in Valinor, as well as removing a bit of extra insult/incentive to pursue), and trauma from Finwë being deader-than-usual and her eldest being kidnapped.

I thought it was Melkor not having been free and spreading distrust for a hundred Years

I'm pretty sure it's the latter.
