Meta!Adarin consents to any and all shenanigans that end with 'And then the Adarin and the Bell lived happily ever after' because um. They like Bells, I don't know if you know this. I have standing permission from Yvette to do a number of really really terrible things to her on the understanding that she is in fact a fictional character and is aware of this and is fine with me having fun and not paying attention to morals for her while she consistently doesn't exist. The minute she starts existing is the minute I start paying attention to morals, and she is aware of this.
More generally, most of the terrible things I do to my characters doesn't permanently screw them up. Sure I might traumatize them a little, or turn them into a horrible monster thing, or torture them psychologically, or kill their children, or make their parents terrible, or make their governments terrible, or inflict horribly nonconsensual permanent mental effects upon them, or - anyway, I am terrible, but I consistently respect them as people (albeit imaginary ones) and don't do any of it because I feel that I need to fill a quota of terrible. They can voice preferences to me and get them, if I don't see a good reason why not. This preference in particular is more Yvette than Revan; Revan doesn't actually mind the incest thing except for the problem of having an awkward time introducing his significant other at parties, but Yvette is just going, "Author? No." Because of this Revan would be offended if I don't listen to her, because like, there are reasons she is saying no and they are valid and if I ignore her reasons I have earned his wrath, too, because I would be gleefully ignoring a stated preference for no other reason than because I can. So uh. I am not doing that.
Also I just don't find it very interesting, it would be the type of drama that would not be entertaining and just kind of a pain to write, and then on top of that I have characters in my head being upset with me for very good reasons, which is even more unpleasant. Basically it would just suck. A lot.
I am curious about the surprise, I try to write Yvette and Revan as both of them finding it very easy to get along with one another, but this is not the same as wanting to hook up. Can you explain your thoughts there, if you don't mind?
