I'm somewhat surprised that Jeff's grandma's gate is not the same as the gate Promise made to send a mortal home.

It's on the wrong continent. Promise made her first gate near her tree, then moved to another continent far away, with Jeff's gate.

Yeah, I get that now. I just didn’t for a while; I expected Arcane would meet Rose when he went to close Promise’s old gate.

I kind of feel sorry for Rose.

I mean, she doesn't seem a particularly good choice for Ruler of Fairyland, but ... well, I don't actually know what I'd do if I had the opportunity, but I'm not sure I could justify just freeing Secret if I could theoretically use Fairyland to save both worlds.

Mm. Well, I guess I could tell her my name, order her to hurt nobody except in self defense or in defense of another just on general principles, and then free her and go off and do the Rose thing. I'd probably still end up with a court of fairies I couldn't trust not to try to vassal me, though...

Thorn is not Astikari. For one thing, Astikari has blue hair and Thorn is on a green and white color scheme.

Rose was in Fairyland for some small unspecified number of years, like 1-3.
