Alli and Soph were texting each other in Sunday. Much chatspeak has occurred, and my inner English nerd is very displeased with me.

Well quoting nightvale:
Language will evolve, irregardless of your attempts to literally lock it away in a secure tower. Obvs

Knowing Nightvale, I’m not even sure if that use of “literally” doesn’t conform to the old meaning.
And I don’t mind language evolving (in most cases; iregardless still bugs me), text chat is different. The language is the same, but the writing is different and harder to read (more homographs, sounds with no corresponding symbols, symbols with multiple sounds as in “gr8”, lack of punctuation, etc.; standard English writing has some of these, but not to the sane extent).
Edit: That’s not to say there aren’tsome good things about it, as with every change. I would fully support the regular half-day period of darkness and the type of nobleman being spelled “nite”, as well as other phonetic spellings, if we could agree on a phonetic spelling system. I vote IPA broad transcription.

I vote we make everyone into linguistics nerds who weird language obsessively. And then IPA broad transcription. (My personal values are clearly the best, universal values, why would you ask that?)
Also, for some reason gr8 and 4ever bother me slightly but gr9 and 5ever don't at all.

It was a "proverb" at the end of a recent episode, so your guess is good as mine.
Quotations, mostly recounting predictable things like the witnesses' shock at the message and the impossibility of disbelieving it, are attributed to people like Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Draft.

"Why can I not bring a girl as a date?! I like my date! She's a great date! I got her flowers that matched her dress and everything!"
...OK, me too. Snarky queer kids not quite being out to themselves, yesgood.

Writing excessively adorable small children continues to be one of your strong points.
