I know, I know. There are still a goodly number of reasonable entries in there, though, enough to confuse what my power is assuming I have one. And I started writing the thing before you made all the rules, and I didn't want to reveal more information by writing another one so people could see how they match up.

Well, what's done is done.

So I'm not going to be posting as much these next couple of days because life is very busy. I'll still check the thread regularly and I will try to get a character list together during that time.

@Alphabeta: Why are you confused?
@Wolffreak567: A lot of the idea for these is that any of them could be your role and powers, so it does not help as much for a possible power to have ?s or to be a list of several possible powers. But I think they pretty much all sound kinda uncertain, so I guess that might cover for it?
Does anyone have any patch ideas to make the lists more useable to people who aren't as familiar with Elcenia?

What do you mean by more useable, BSS?

Like, if someone has not read Elcenia yet, and they have a long list of characters with and without powers, and so it goes really terribly because all of the characters have either no information or information that could be gotten quickly from the dramatis personae, except one or two characters with powers that make thematic sense, then it is very clear which ones could be real.
This can be helped some by people copying and making variations from other people's list posts, but there would still be a major concern of someone accidentally revealing their role by only having one or two of the possibilities be plausible ones.

I've been trying to marshal my thoughts into a usable form, but it's not really getting anywhere. As it turns out, most of my thoughts during the night became pointless in the day, because they were mostly "what's up with Aestrix???", along with being glad that I was as stubborn as I was with my vote. Like, in retrospect it was pretty dumb tactically—even if Alphabeta was my rank 1 most suspicious character, there's still no point in keeping my vote aimed at him if nobody else is—but I still thought it had turned out for the best, because otherwise my vote would have gone back to Aestrix and she'd have been left to the nonexistent mercies of THE COIN. Except then she went into Witness Protection today anyway, so she's basically out of the game. Although it's possible she's not, since her role wasn't broadcasted? So she might actually be able to get away with reappearing at some point.
Urgh. This is kind of a pointless rambly thought-dump. Still, it's basically where I'm at. I misplayed the first day, but then it (maybe) ended up turning out for the best anyway, so it's essentially just a free lesson on how not to play next game, without the costs typically associated with that sort of lesson.
Actually, there's a worrying thought. It's just occurred to me that Witness Protection might be a mafia power. Like, I've never heard of it before, but given that Alicorn and Nemo were getting creative here, I could see it: a mafia power which somehow removes a player from the game temporarily (or permanently) but isn't labeled as a kill. It's exactly the sort of power which would only work in a one-off game, since otherwise we'd know that Witness Protection is synonymous with [kill/remove], but within a one-off game, it could seriously screw with the town's normal functioning. Which would also explain why the mods would be so reticent about what happened, because the mysteriousness is part of the point.
@BSS: Yeah, that's precisely the reason that I haven't made a list of my own. I've actually read Summons and Blood, but it was about a year ago and I've forgotten too many details. If anyone could come up with a good solution to that problem, I'd be really happy about it.

Read it again? I did that recently and was glad I had. If you start now you can probably finish at least Summons before the end of the (in-game) day. :p

I had similar not-having-read-Elcenia problems, which I solved by reading more Elcenia. I've still only read Summons and Blood, but that gave me enough material to work with to make a list that of I think pretty plausible powers? Reading Blood took me a real-life night; you could probably get it done pretty quick if you've got the free time.
I am now at a real computer with real internet and can participate in discussion! My position on Aestrix is: I have no idea what even is going on with Aestrix, wtf. I will endeavor to read through the thread and generate some new Most Suspicious Suspects to write down privately now that I've got time to do that. Maybe it'll make the whole Aestrix thing make more sense.

Position on Aestrix: Idk what was up with her but I think she was telling the truth. I think we can assume from this that the scum in this game know who the other scum are, so we might be able figure out who's scum by looking at who didn't vote for Aestrix.
