It turns out the support request form is a correct avenue, the devs have already seen this. It's a long-standing problem but there are some potential solutions. So don't expect a quick fix, but there will be one coming... eventually... probably.

That's the support request I sent... where'd you get the information that the devs have seen it?

I recently signed up for the dev email list. I need coding practice anyway, this project seems to have actually *friendly* developers.

I had missed that it was open source! I know no Perl so will probably not be contributing, but I can poke around on things like MySQL I suppose? I would not be horribly surprised if the Epic Breakage is a slow MySQL query.

one work around for the comment thing is instead of clicking "expand", click "link" -- that gets a link to that one comment and all the ones below it.
