Promise is heartwrenching.

Yes. If it wouldn’t be completely counterproductive I’d want to give her a hug.

Wrt: most recent Room Of Requirement stuff, I really appreciate Alicorn and lintamande's ability to turn small worldbuilding details into Dramatic Plot Points.

I completely agree. It’s why I mentioned where I was when there was a certificate glitch last night; it was a tense moment and I honestly had no clue if the fairy was bluffing.

Also, were these Valar visited by Elspeth before the first elves appeared or something? And how is their world at all beautiful in the eyes of Eru?

Edit: I don’t think Minor had any clue if the fairy was bluffing or not either because he didn’t even realize he was being threatened.

Or locked in Milliways for a few Ages. That got ruled out before on the grounds of keeping Milliways out of Silmaril but I suspect that doesn't apply to Room of Requirement.

Miriel and Finwë divorced, she came back to life after oaths were fixed, and she's now dating both Finwe and his second wife which is at least a little scandalous.
THIS IS A GREAT WAY FOR THIS PARTICULAR STORY TO GO

And they got the Maitimo from there!

Now for the part where they have to convince Frederick that conjuring a non-traumatized Elf Timothy wasn't mostly for shipping reasons.

I hadn’t considered that. Do the authors want to convince me that it wasn’t? That’s easy to do; I’d believe them if they claimed it or if they proceeded not to launch the ship after there’s an opportunity.

The characters came up with the idea and it was hard to arrange the multiverse in a way that deterred them, it honestly wasn't planned for any reasons shipping or otherwise.
