How long has it been, in-story, since Space Arda and Hex first encountered each other?

I could see a Dusk doing this, actually. Maybe remind me about it when I'm back under thread saturation?

Is there anything written somewhere about Objects (the setting of The Pencil and the Flask + The Newspaper and the Pen)?

Written, no, but it's the setting of the show The Lost Room, and the character interactions in thread are representative of the explanations given by the show, you are not missing much worldbuilding for lack of a thread or watching it.

Oh, okay, didn't know that it was an already-existing setting.

I really enjoyed "far far away". The three-author bit was done well (as they often seem to be despite being hard to coordinate) and a lot of the narration was - sort of sarcastic in a good way? Plus I don't know much about the Old Republic so it's nice to find out more when I read these threads.

Re: Stop and Smell the Roses:
It makes sense for the characters not to know this, but there are places on Earth where different dialects of the same language are spoken in nearby countries and called different things. This doesn’t present much diplomatic challenge; they just say, “hey look, there are two languages here”. A language is a dialect with an army and a navy, and before recently there were two militaries on the planet.

Ceirene and Aluvai are really close.
(My it's-not-a-headcanon-because-I'm-a-setting-coauthor is that the way the winged ones interact with the rest of society means that language drift is really slow, because you've got all these people with unpredictable lifespans speaking the way they spoke when they were younger, and they tend to be high-status and therefore standard-setting, but they can come from anywhere so they don't end up isolated from the rest of society in their own speech community.)
It is approximately the same level of absurd to call Ceirene and Aluvai different languages as it would be if we started splitting this continent's dialects of English into a 'language' called "Canadian" and a 'language' called "American", complete with the part where there's probably more regional variation within each category than there is between the two. Now, maybe there are some people actually on this planet somewhere who actually do the equivalent of that, but if so, Ashras thinks they're a little silly.

That is exactly the kind of thing that humans do and Ashras is welcome to consider us silly.

Does
this not qualify as Pact!lying? It's obviously deceptive but it seems like on the face of it it's not literally true either.
